New AFI album - Crash Love

Anyone else listened to this album? I didn't hate Decemberunderground like everyone else seemed to, but this is still heaps heaps better.

Torch Song and End Transmission are the highlights for me, but a really good album - people say AFI aren't like Black Sails or The Art of Drowning but what do they expect, if they were they'd call them stagnant and old. They can't win.

There is a difference between varying your music to prevent stagnating and selling out. I think we all know where AFI fits on that scale.

I had totally forgotten about this album actually, it seems to have gotten some good feedback though so I might give it a sniff.

It's better than DU I'll tell you that right now. Sure it's not Black Sails but it's good. Give it a chance I reckon might surprise you.

after hearing Miss Murder i didnt even bother with DU but the new one is ok has its moments of greatness and some blander stuff but overall a return to form, that said it isnt Sing The Sorrow which for me is their best.

Couldn't find any other AFI threads but would rather resurrect this than post a new thread about Burials.

New album, Burials, is out next month. 3 tracks out so far - The Conductor, I Hope You Suffer and 17 Crimes.

I'm really enjoying all of them - anyone else hanging out for this one? A lot of people think they've gone in a shit direction in the last 5 years, I loved Crash Love and I'm sure I'm going to love Burials.

Tried finding the new songs but they we're all leaked download links that seemed broken..

But I did come across some footage of a recent gig they played



F*ck me, if they played an entire set consisting of "Shut Your Mouth...." songs, and nothing past Sing The Sorrow, I would so be there..

I didn't think they played their really old songs all that often....


December Underground totally destroyed me and I haven't heard anything from Crash Love... I think the big killer for me was not that "Miss Murder" was totally shit, it was that there was a radio edit version! It was soft enough to start with and they still needed a radio edit version sans 'hardcore breakdown screaming' -
