Welcome all, to the refuge of the eternally damned.

If you support an NBA duffer, then make yourself right at home. However if you're a fan of an actual well-run NBA team, or the Lakers, then you're not due here. Yet.

Getting the offseason going with a bang, the Hawks, Kings and Pels have all fired their GMs. Elsewhere the Suns have wasted little time with their annual coach firing, the Mavs are allegedly considering hiring a minder for Nico Harrison, and the Spurs are in limbo awaiting further news on Coach Popovich. God speed, Pops.

The Kings and Pels both hired new GMs within 24 hours of firing their incumbents, proving once again that small minds think alike. My Pelicans have really gone the retro route and hired Joe Dumars, and followed that up by recycling another discarded Detroit front office leader in Troy Weaver. Given the Pistons hired Trajan Langdon from New Orleans 12 months ago, the Pels have effectively traded their front office for Detroit's - of all the choices you could make in basketball, that's certainly one.

Weaver will now serve as senior Vice President of basketball ops, under executive Vice President of basketball ops, Dumars. Curious to see how the Pelicans choose their job titles, we've gotten hold of some exclusive footage from Smoothie King Centre:

Anyway, here are some dates for some REAL action, once that pesky playoff nonsense comes to a merciful end.

May 12/13 - Lottery draw

June 26/27 - NBA Draft

June 30 - Free agent negotiations

July7/8 - Free agency proper begins

Man, every team the loses a superstar seems to get a number 1 pick. Especially if that star goes to LA.
Except Houston who lost Harden. Spurs sucked for the first time in 20 years, so had to give them Wemby instead.

Meanwhile Washington get pick 6.
The lottery sucks

Set the worst record of all time and you still don't get it :tearsofjoy:

It does indeed suck.

So for everyone watching at home. If you want pick one in the lottery just trade / let your best player go to the Lakers.

James (Cavs) FA
Davis (Pelicans) Trade
Doncic (Mavs) Trade
Reaves (Spurs) FA

Now, if only the Bulls had got into trading away Levine when we had the chance.

The Mavs, Spurs and Sixers have won a lot of games in the last 10 years to be getting the top three picks in an allegedly top-heavy draft, but it is what it is I guess. Makes you wonder why a team like Miami even bothered to win the play-ins.

Pels have had their luck previously, so no point complaining about it going the other way. Our track record with picks in the middle of the lottery ain't exactly inspiring though. We traditionally enjoy trading the picks for win-now players who immediately suffer severe injuries. Or pick duds.

I feel worst of all for Portland fans. The Blazers have been lower tier-mid for years, had no luck with previous lottery picks and re-signed a dud coach in Billups.

I just cannot believe that not one of the Jazz, Wizards or Pelicans (teams with of the worst 3 records in the league) didn't make the top 4 of the lottery.

I don't think it's rigged but maybe the NBA has to change the weigh-in laws (especially about longer-odd teams jumping up into the top 4, cause mathematically it doesn't add up having the Mavs and Spurs having the top two picks given pre lotto odds (got nothing against either team or franchise BTW)

Miami wanted to convey the OKC pick otherwise it was a lottery pick next year and reckon we will be complete dogshit 🤣🤣
