I'd really would like to know who are some of the current consecutive game record holders. I have a fascination about players with huge consecutive game streaks, we don't see any players playing longer than 25 games before they are either out of the side for any reason.

I think the record at Collingwood belongs to Jock McHale, that comes as a surprise to me as he was a super coach and rightly is seen as a great, but he played in a bygone era where players were getting peanuts compared to what they make now.

Who are some of the record holders at your club, past and present, and how surprised are you about that player?

Jim Stynes played 244 (?) of his 260 odd game career consecutively. I think that might be the all-time record as well.

Does anyone know the flip side of this record? I mean who has the most single game streaks, ie game-dropped-game-dropped etc.?

Interesting that Brad Ebert was the last 17 year old to debut (2008).

Players have to be 18 on or before April 30 the year following the draft and the season usually starts in late March, so there is a small window of opportunity.

Congratulations to Jack Crisp today, running out for his 200th consecutive AFL game.

Streak started in Round 18, 2014 at the age of 20 years and 297 days. Game 200 straight comes in Round 12, 2023 at the age of 29 and 244 days.

Interestingly, this streak started into his 3rd season at the Lions, coming back into the side and playing the last 6 games of their season, before joining Collingwood in 2015 and playing every game since.

Jim Stynes sits atop with 244 consecutive games, Adem Yze got to 226, Adam Goodes 204, Jack Titus 202 and Brett Kirk 200.

Current streaks behind Crisp have Petracca at 118 consecutive games, then Macrae 108 and Charlie Cameron at 103. Parker is stiff, copping a suspension on his 99th consecutive game.

Reason I added this part in is because I find it quite remarkable that he debuted at 18, played 12 games in his first 2 seasons, then commenced this 200 game streak at 20, later in his 3rd season, yet is almost 30 now and only made it to 211 games in total.

Makes me appreciate the durability of the likes of Pendlebury (368), Buddy (349), Hawkins (338), Boak (336) and Riewoldt (336) more to be able to crack the 300 game mark.

It’s really not as easy as it may seem, especially when someone like Crisp had to play every game from almost 21 years of ago to almost 30 years of age just to get 200 straight games. Playing 2-3 finals a year will obviously help add 20-30 games over 10 years, but we’re talking blokes all around that 350 total career games - it’s truly a remarkable feat and credit to their durability.
