I went off and got footy Tickets for the G on Friday Night yesterday, assuming the home side always gets The punt road End (Southern Stand)

But after i have spoken to a few people they have informed me that the Ponsford stand end is for the home side. Is this True? For me as long as i can remember I thought i was right, but maybe not anymore?

It used to be the case that the Punt Road end was the home end until the rebuilt the Olympic/Northern Stand and Collingwood requested the city/ponsford end be their home end!

Richmond are that way. Punt Road End for home games and Ponsford stand for away games.

hawthorn were as well this season. only thing i can assume is there is more seats in the ponsford end? I remember the Waverly days one end had more room then the other, is this the case at the MCG?

They did this last year as well during finals. Whoevers home game it was sat in the Ponsford stand. The one exception was Collingwood. For whatever reason they get the ponsoford for every home and away + finals game.

This was the agreement the Rose Admin did PRE - EDDIE in order to have Collingwood use the MCG as our Home Ground. Also the Social Club in the Ponsford will be a money spinner for the pies this weekend as Collingwood FC get a percentage of every dollar spent even if the Pies are NOT playing at the time. ;)

See it's not just Ed who could drive a hard bargain.
