Hi all. Just heard through a mate who studied Sports at Vic Uni, and worked very closely with the Bulldogs that Marcus Bontempelli has in fact torn his achilles right off the bone very recently. The club is apparently trying to keep it on the down low. Terrible news if true.

Please be not true. When did it supposedly happen? I find it hard to believe something so big hasn't come out yet.

If true, did he tell you what the expected time frame is for such an injury?

Very recently?

They didn't train today so would have to have been at bet yesterday and I doubt the club could hide something that big for that long.

What would be the point of keeping it hushed up? A torn achilles is a long term injury so people will know something is wrong when he starts missing games.
77,794 posts from you.

77,793 of them have been rubbish. This post is an exception.

A poster on our board with contacts to our coaching staff has made the call and confirmed the above rumour is 'fake news'. Kill thread.

If this was true, there is no chance it would be kept secret for a couple of hours, let alone a couple of days...

"77,793 of them have been rubbish."?

How dare you. You're obviously in cahoots with the corrupt AFL and their umpires. We know what you're up to.

You must be a part of the AFL's top secret Russian hacking division, that hacks into Plugger's PC/phone and data mines to find out which team Plugger is supporting in each specific match, so the AFL can then nefariously manipulate the free kick count in favour of whichever team Plugger is not rooting for.

Don't you dare try to play it off as if Plugger is just some obsessively paranoid, jealous, bitter sore loser.

And don't you dare post this Gif to try discredit the great man.

Hope you enjoyed your five minutes of relevance mate. This board is an absolute cesspit.

Perhaps so that betting agencies can make a continued cash grab for Brownlow betting over the next few weeks of the preseason.

Just a thought, not saying the injury rumour is true and if it is true that this is the reason behind the hush.

Edit: glad the rumour has been debunked - no one wants to see champion players on the sidelines.

Reporter-Why has Marcus Bontempelli missed the last 15 games and seen around with a heavy limp?

Bev-Uh......He's been suspended for drugs!

Reporter-"But we saw him at the hospital on crutches"

Bev-Well.....Uh.......HE OVERDOSED!

Mate, no need to kill the messenger. I'm just saying what my friend said who has worked with the club and is still in touch with trainers, coaches, players and such. Again, if this is true I will be shattered. He's an amazing, young player.
