Not uncontracted vs contracted for 4 years he's not.

Irrelevant in this instance. Warner is quadruple the player Jackson is. Kosi is on par. There is also the other factor that Freo is paying Jackson about $1m a season too much. The fact that Freo massively overpaid for Jackson is relevant, especially if he’s on that deal for another 4 years!

He isn't even getting a million a season so how can it be a million too much?

We locked him in before the CBA upgrades, TDK is looking at 1.5m, we are getting Jackson for a bargain compared...

Does his deal have CBA uplift built in?

Does his deal have CBA uplift built in?
Don't know but its hard to see it being built in with our list

Jackson, Serong, Brayshaw, Cox, Young, Darcy, Bolton, Treacy, Ryan all on big money and most of them long term

unless some players had it built in and some not but I doubt that

Not having it built in is the exception to the rule

Yes it is, the bloke who signed the last deal continues to get his cut, if the the new manager wants a cut then he needs to renegotiate at a higher rate or extend years (the old manager still retains his cut though)

New manager can however make brand deals etc to get a cut from
So what your saying is Freo is are going to have to pay up more even though Jackson is on big money already?
still don't like it.

You mean the guy who dropped the intial story stands by his story? Shocking.

There is no world in which Jackson isn't a docker next year.

There is a world where he’s not.
But the team getting him would be giving up such a ridiculous amount that it would cripple them.

I struggle to see what price would even be enough for us to give him up given Darcy is injured again

I agree completely. Just saying that the astronomical price someone may give up for him could tempt us.
Can’t even think of a hypothetical that we’d look at

Freo want Kozzy so it’s probably a straight swap if both players are keen to move.
If it comes down to a swap there is no chance in hell that freo say yes. Jackson is probably the single most important player on our team right now. If keeping him meant giving up the chase for Kozzy we'd do that in a heartbeat.

Edit: LOL. It's actually the most Fremantle thing to trade out arguably your most important player with 4 years left on his contract to get a flakey small forward who has a good game every 5.

What is it with players wanting to join Freo then (allegedly in this case) wanting to leave a couple of years later? No other club seems to have this many yo-yo trades.

100% agree that Jackson for Pickett shouldn't get it done. Darcy is 27 and has played 15, 12, 4/9 games the last 2 and a bit years and is injured again. Freo aren't contending in the next 2-3 years if he's the #1 ruck option.

All from the same management. The players that joined in the first place didn’t do it because they wanted to come home but because we were offering the best money. So it’s not surprise when they leave for more money.

Apart from Hogan, who else in recent times?

Jackson and Darcy don't work well together it makes sense do the deal Kozzy another dangerous player in Freo's forward line.

Jackson and Darcy work well together when Darcy actually plays more than 5 games in a row. But it's a lot of salary cap room tied up in two rucks. Freo would be better off if they could turn Darcy + picks into Kozzy Pickett and keep Jackson.
