Welcome to Logo of the Week!

Each fortnight, you will be required to produce a new logo for an existing sports team. That team can be a club or representative side from any competition, anywhere in the world.

10 days will be allowed for entries, with 4 days for voting.

This competition is designed for us all to practice our graphic design skills. We want fresh and unique ideas and entries. Use this competition to try things you've never tried before. You'd be surprised how easy things can be to draw when you sit down and give it a go.

There will never be too much of a design brief beyond the club name, so let your imagination run wild!

Rules:

- No stolen artwork! This is THE central tenet of this competition! Everything in your logo must be 100% drawn yourself, either in your graphics program of choice or on paper, and scanned in. Or even a combination of both! Under no circumstances are you to use an existing logo from elsewhere as part of your design. As per the Williamstown comp, i'll allow existing workmarks into the competition provided they are part of an originally drawn design.

- There is no limit on how many entries you can make, provided they are unique. If you are going to have multiple entries, make them different from each other or they wont go in the poll.

- The winner of each fortnight will choose the team for the next competition.

Funnily enough, LogoOTW initially started after a discussion about how bad the Melbourne Tigers logo is.

I started the tiger logo that i've used all over the place on this board based on that discussion of the Melbourne Tigers, and i've spent about 2 years developing it since then, so I don't feel bad at all about entering it here. :)

I cant draw to save myself, thus wont be entering anything like this, however I would be interested to see if anyone stears away from a traditional yellow/black tiger, and looks at a white tiget for a logo or something.

Let's see some entries here ladies and gents!

This marks the first time we've had a round where a similar mascot has been used in an earlier LogoOTW round, after we had the Coburg Tigers/Lions in round 8, which was probably most famous for the clock letters entry by Andonis1997

But was taken out by this superb entry by Mowse, who was one of a few designers absolutely blowing away the competition early on.

This round is a great opportunity for people to revisit the tiger, and for the regulars in this competition who might have had a go at a tiger logo in the past to see just how far they've come since round 8, which happened over a year ago.

After the top quality effort we saw last round with Essendon, I have some high hopes for this round.

Fair enough, I thought I'd seen the heart shaped tongue before..
You can defiantly tell you've used it as a guide though. Maybe play around with the shape of the tongue and eye area/brow to give it less of a Fraser ripoff feel to it. Also the word mark doesn't really go with the logo. I'd make the word mark more curvy and simple (kind of like the tiger) The drop shadows and bevelling take away from the overall design.

First visit to this board. Can I just say that having recently gotten back into the tigers after many years, and watching that disgraceful excuse for a third-grader's attempt at a logo all season, there is some real talent floating around.

The club would be MAD not to investigate some of this stuff. Well played.
