Kid's Footy Books

Not sure where to put this but does anyone remember those books from primary schhol that involved each team. The boy would say he barracks for collingwood and would talk about his favourite player. At the end of the book was the club song. Anyone remember these? Would love to find them again as a gift

Lol yes, they were great, in grade 1 i borrowed the collingwood one nearly every week.

I read them all and I do recall them being updated. But this is years ago. Can you recall the title. I do remember the pies one. Peter Daicos gets his teeth knocked out at Vic Park

I just remembered it had 'Carn' in it

Yeah they had them for all teams.... i even remember the freo one

Lol i think i only read the collingwood one and west coast one- thats when they were my 2nd fav team cos it had a cool cover. i hid it from my father cos i thought i would get in trouble.

they were written by Lorraine Wilson, most of them were called "Come on the Bombers" or "come on the pies",,,

they were written in 1982,1984 though so no west coast or freo..

They were the "Footy Kids" series...they were updated again in the 1990's, and can often be found on eBay...

so they were, and named "carn the ___",,, i wasnt really into kids books by 1995....hehe

ahh yes. the only reason i loved having library lessons. too bad there were no Freo books. I used to love them books.

It's got Terry Wallace in it and talks about how Hawthorn get stiffed by the umpires. (True)

It also talks about how Hawthorn won the 83 flag, so 84-85 sounds about right.
