Cant Argue with ya, hes the scotty west of the vfl, he just racks em up, 40+ touches a game. Hopefully he gets picked up, classy player.

He has had a great season with Bendigo, played some great footy, and really helped the young kids along, i just think he has run his race though, some guys just arent cut out for the big league and i think he is one of them, he probably deserves another go, but there have been a lot of great VFL players who couldnt make the next step and i think he might fit into that group. I hope he gets the chance, we could do with him to help out fletch.

I probably should have elaborated.

I think he'll get picked up but not necessarily by Essendon. Perhaps a club that desperately needs a tall defender i.e Western Bulldogs or Kangaroos (especially with Colbert & Baird gone)

Mahoney was 25 when he was drafted, Doering I think from memory will be 28.

I like Jordan, he reads the play brilliantly and he actually played some handy footy at Carlton.

But I just don't think he is going to get his chance.

He won a B&F at Tassie and then at Bendigo. He played two fantastic years at VFL level and didn't get drafted as a 24-26 year old. I think his time could have passed him by.

I'd actually be rather disapointed if Essendon drafted (whilst pleased for Jordan). Just don't think it is the direction we were heading. Port had finished on top for two years when they drafted Mahoney, they wanted another big body to add to their depth.
We need more young talent with 10 years of footy in them.

Jordan is 187cm.
He is hardly AFL tall defender material.

Flanker.

He could prolly play the Mcphee role really well for Essendon, if they picked him up, and release Mcphee either up the ground, or to the forwardline, or even, just to help out Mcphee in his role

I would absolutely love him to get picked up, and hope he'd do well.

Just dont think his future will be at Essendon.

Didnt think he was that old either, 25/26 sounds about right, i remember him from the older afl games ;).

Been great in the vfl for the last couple of years. Deserves a go

Actually he's only 25 and will be 26 at the start of next year.

So he is.

He isn't as quick as McPhee, nor is he as good a contested mark. Bit of Mark Bolton syndrome, in between size.

Montgomery isn't the 3rd tall defender that you suggested Doering could be, and Teague has the abilty to play on the bigger bodied forwards, I don't think Doering does.

He is a great VFL player, just don't see him being a worth while pick at his age. I just can't see too many teams willing to take a punt on a 26 year old HBF.

And dominating at VFL level is no guide to how good you are at AFL level. If it was then Jeremy Clayton would be starring for North at the minute.
