Geez how bad were the Cronulla Riots. Kind of gets forgotten about a bit - maybe we are better people now - but geez what a stain on our modern history.
Why do we have local Councils flying the indigenous and TSI flags but not the Australian flag? Or at the Australian Open kids are offered washable tattoos of Australian flags - the Indigenous flag and TSI but not the Australian flag?Who is anyone too scared to fly the Australian flag? Who is threatening them?
Which council and when? Why do we have local Councils flying the indigenous and TSI flags but not the Australian flag?
I doubt many would, probably the axe grinders do, but there aren't really many of those in the real world. It is sad that flying ouyt flag now has these perilous connotations. It is unfair.
If I see someone flying it I don't jump to such conclusions.
I have never heard of that happening. Maybe flying all 3 but definitely not flying 2 but not the Australian flag.Which council and when?
I don’t think we are better now. There was a YouTube who went down to Cronulla last Jan 26 and discovered there’s still an underbelly of racist flag waving sentiment in that area (second half of the video)
It happened because of the rise of anti-Muslim/Arab sentiment over the 5 years prior, Howard telling bogans they decide who comes to their home or not and egged on by Alan Jones telling bogans to bash “l*bs and w*gs”. If the bogans get another leader who whips up racist frenzy then who knows who will be the targets.
I’ve just googled local councils and australian flags and haven’t seen a single article about any council refusing to fly an Australian flag. Sky and Murdoch media would be over that stuff if it was true. Why do we have local Councils flying the indigenous and TSI flags but not the Australian flag?
I saw one article about a council on the central coast that news.com.au had run a article on hearsay......surprise, surpriseI’ve just googled local councils and australian flags and haven’t seen a single article about any council refusing to fly an Australian flag. Just name one council and we can use Google map street view to check if you are lying or not. C’mon, name one

The council came out and said it was a blatant lie.
What happened in Cronulla was 20 years ago and there were other factors at play such as the Skaf gang rapes.
Ahhh yes the old “you hate Australia” rubbish argument. You hate Australia and Australians in general. It’s obvious. Just come out and admit it instead of hiding behind threads such as this.
Do you think Google Street view is live feed LOL?
And that is the defense of your assertion?Do you think Google Street view is live feed LOL?
1. The southern crossThe Skaf gang were in prison long before Cronulla, there was plenty of violence directed at Muslims especially post 9/11 but the media weren’t interested in reporting on it.

I want Australian symbols on the Australian flag, a national day that reflects something Australians did, an Australian head of state and a foreign policy that prioritises this nation’s interests not Americas.
Do I “hate Australia”?
This is just wallaby level posting.1). The flag has been tainted because a bunch of racist ****wits wear it around like a cape every year.
1. The southern cross
2. The prime minister
3. The US is an important ally. Our foreign policy generally always prioritises this country.
Wanting to improve one’s country could be construed as ‘being negative’ by those of limited vision, I guess. Likewise, focusing on the positives can allow problems to fester and inertia to set in.schneebly111 It really is depressing reading your posts. How about focusing on the good things about this country instead of the negatives - most of which happened before you were even born.
There is a reason why migrants clamour to come to this country. It’s because we offer opportunities rarely available anywhere else in the world.
If you think another country does it better than us and you truly dislike our country and its citizens then I suggest you travel abroad and get some perspective.

Can we not fall into this seppo level troop worship bullshit?Good post.
I’m sure our ex serviceman would like to hear his views on the Australian Flag and Australia.
This is just wallaby level posting.
