No names in the article, but it's being reported that James BRayshaw's wife was crushed to death by falling bricks after closing the garage door.

Tragic, if true.

Obviously news is still filtering through. Strong chance that a Brayshaw family member is involved, hence the thread. Early radio reports suggested it was his wife.

In SA they're reporting older sister, but the victim's younger than him so it can't be.

very sad indeed.

Incident was very similar to a little boy named Terry Vo in perth a few years back.

I heard the same at 9am on the NovaFM news.

However they did also say that nothing has been confirmed.

So not sure of the story.

However they did mention James Brayshaw

Her name was Sally.

It's his sister.

She was 36.

She was my babysitter for 4 years as a kid in WA.

Gorgeous girl.

Bloody tragic.

This is horrible. JB's a fantastic person.

I wouldnt worry about the Footy Show for the time being. I'm sure Garry can do it by himself.

Brayshaw's sister killed in freak accident

THE sister of sporting and media personality James Brayshaw has been killed in a freak accident in Melbourne.

Sally was crushed to death by bricks that fell from her garage wall, police said.

The 36-year-old had just closed the garage door at her house in Gerona Street, Keilor, in Melbourne's northwest, when the top row of bricks from the front wall fell on her at about 7.30pm (AEST) yesterday, police said.

She was discovered by relatives who heard the noise of the falling bricks.

They began CPR but she could not be revived by ambulance crews who arrived a short time later.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

“It’s a tragic, unthinkable accident. The family is absolutely devastated. We hope that everyone can respect our privacy at this difficult time,” James Brayshaw said in a statement released by his management, Adams Management.

She was also the daughter of former Western Australian cricketer and Australian footballer Ian Brayshaw and sister of Mark Brayshaw, a former Kangaroos AFL player.

James Brayshaw worked for the Seven Network in Adelaide in the 1990s and now lives and works in Melbourne.


So sad. My sincerest condolences to the Brayshaw family.
