Indigenous players for the 2011.draft

This will be the fourth year that I have started this thread. It seems to upset some posters, but I can assure you I have only the greatest admiration for the champions of the past such as Polly Farmer, Sid Jackson, Nicky Winmar, Gilbert McAdam and his brothers, the Krakourers, Robbie Muir,and all the rest. The Saints need to be looking for a speedy forward type. Milney wont be around forever.
Anyway I hope everyone gets into the spirit of the thing and feed the thread with players.

You raise the issue of upsetting some posters but then generalise that only indigenous kids can make good small pockets? Despite making this generalisation your small forward over all these years is Milne.

Thread is actually a good idea. Just gone about it the wrong way i feel.

Wondering if you can help me out this player.

Saw a jet playing with NT U/16 in the 2010 NAB championships. Think his name was Autio.

A tall lad who could take a hanger and had good press at that stage.

Not sure if eligible for draft this year or next.

Yes. Sam Autio from Palmerston.

A very talented player. Is a champion junior boxer from memory as well. From Wadeye originally, I think.

He's had scouts watching him for a couple of years already as he's been playing NTFL since he was 15.

Same as Jed Andersen from Katherine who plays for Buffs and Thunder. But he's obviously going to GWS.


Ross Tungatalum is also a lock to go this year. I'd favour him going to Freo.

Angelo Thomas(Claremont) and Dale Wallam(MULLEWA) are going to the WA state screenings.

'Choo Choo' Tungatulum's an interesting case, he's already walked away from a club once. Certainly a lively talent though

Most indigenous people are shorter in stature. They are highly skilled and are natural players suited to certain positions. I would not take this in a bad way at all.
As a Geelong supporter I love it when we draft them to our team as they represent your culture and our team with distinction. Go Cats and all of the players in our side.

the sumners are from south australia, murray bridge area i think from memory.

Jordan Wilson from North Adelaide. Played for NT at U18 championships and was one of their best, if not their best.

Was fantastic in leading Rostrevor to a win over Sacred Heart.

Sounds like a similar prospect to Jack Martin, perhaps he plays a little taller.

bugger all chance of matty rankine getting drafted. struggling to get a gig in the seniors here through injury and poor form. however, he is very quick and works hard, but goes missing a lot.

I'm not really a believer of the whole traditional forward pocket, young Gartlett would be a perfect match and slot in on the HFF/ Wing or pocket.
