Re: Hume FL

So does anyone happen to know what's going on with the love affair between Culcairn and Walla at the moment? Any truth they will be running round in a mixture of green, maroon blue and white jumpers next year?? Sounds lovely.....
It's been threatened for years but is there a scerick of fact this time round of a merger?!

The general thought around the town is both clubs pushing for a joint club next year, the chat is walla approached culcairn and have set up a meeting in the next few days or so ! They have got some fast work to do with the coaching and recruits .........walla could set a record 2 coaches in 2 months.

Holy crap, some modding done around here??? Well Im flabbergasted!!!
On a side note, such ends one of the longest threads on BF. I think it shows that while struggling administrationally, local footy is as popular and creates as much interest as ever in the region.
This may be a gossip rag but it is an indication of the importance of country football to country people.
Go the Hume League:thumbsu:

does anyone know if the hume league is planing on having games on anzac day next year. Im sure alot of people would have better things to do on this day that comes around once a year than to play football. Surely it will be a general bye

Former Albury Tigers and current Holbrook footballer Aaron Pitson was recently on holidays in Thailand and had an accident there and has been left with some serious injuries and a whopping bill to go with it from the Thai Government/Hospital. He is still in hospital while recovering. Mates are currently organising a 'Last Man Standing' at the Star on the 7th of December to help raise some money to help him and his family to get him home and cover some money of the expenses. Tickets are $100 per head and a prize of $3000 for the winner plus piss included from 12pm-4pm. Even those who don't know Pitto are more than welcome to try and snare the cash. Normally not a site for this but certainly a worthy cause to a very popular former Albury Tigers and current Holbrook footballer. Tickets can be bought at the Star from Andy or Hodgy or from Bucks 0420979172 or Fez 0424626083.

The word from AFL House is that if either the Hume or RFL accept either TRYC or Collingullie, then the AFL will move the remaining clubs to that league and force a split.

Even though the Hume league clubs are indicating a decisive NO vote, if this was to change and they accept TRYC, then Lockhart, Henty, Culcairn & Holbrook could find themselves in the Farrer league for 2009.

The most pressure is on the RFL and in particular the Wagga clubs – if they vote Collingullie in then North Wagga, Eastern Hawks & MCUE will find themselves in the Farrer league in 2009. The AFL does not want to see the RFL become a Wagga based competition as it could start to see the rapid decline of footy in the MIA.

The issue of the Magpies is yet to be raised in regards to TRYC application to the Hume league - have TRYC said that they will change their identity from the "magpies" to prevent a conflict with the Murray Magpies???

If so, what have proposed to change their identity to?

This makes sense - moving North Wagga and the Eastern Hawks to the Farrer League... but I would change the name of the league. Maybe Riverina Football League division 2? or something along those lines...or call it the South West League? give it a new jazzy title /fresh coat of paint to brighten it up.

What about Cootamundra? would they be at a standard to compete in a division 2 level?

Didn't realise that last thread had been closed until I tried post - betting I'm not the only person to fall for that!

Heard RW have recruited Justin Dixon for 09.

Also heard Paul Glanville has left Whorouly to join a Hume League club. Not sure which one though.

Yes Dickson to RW, but I believe he has just been accepted into the Police Force, so mightn't get to play much. Glanville to BB for massive coin.

White line designs is a locally owned and operated company and has been supplying training and playing outfits for 2 or 3 years. based in wagga they rely on the client telling them what type of design you are after and they basically come back with 5 or 6 variations and will keep working on it until there is a design that all parties are happy with. Prices are ultra competitive and service is unbelievable. Also specialise and touch shirts and team polos.

For more information on WLD go to www.whitelinedesigns.com.au
Whiteline designs, designs that perform!!

They should consider the old Yerong Creek strip.
I think it was like Mitta's. in the T.L. (Dark blue with white V.)
Mascot - I don't know. Could be a slight clash with Coly - Blues.

Or maybe a new jumper using the Melbourne Storm colours.

TRYC Storm? :thumbsu: or

With the last league delegates meeting being held today does that mean the draw for next season should be released in the next week or so. Wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall in that meeting when TRYC saga comes up. Bit of heated debate one will suspect.

Not only that NOP, keen to find out if the Hume League delegates accepted Tallangatta League's invitation to play an Interleage game under lights at Lavi on the Friday night of the June long weekend. Would be a cracker if both Leagues can get their best 22 on the paddock.

That would be great could imagine the interest it would develop
