Realistically down to the Eagles and the only two clubs with the draft picks that could satisfy the Eagles for a contracted Harley Reid, Essendon and Richmond.

Well if Allen leaves we could consider this as a net resultThey split pick 3 in a super draft to bring in a 27 year old Baker while their club captain who is 26 years old is being offered unders as they seem to be willing to let him leave to potentially get pick 3 as compensation. It doesn't make sense
Across his career he’s been the best performed of his draft class, clubs knew about his fitness issues when they were making those offers pre draft and it isn’t an issue you fix in a singular year.i disagree
i think he is worth 2 x Top 10 picks max, no more.
It's no Suprise the only people pumping his value are Eagles fans, and non-eagle's fans don't see that value.
IMO should offer him a massive contract and keep him.
Only due to his age not his performancesEveryone sees that value, he would be widely recognised as a top 10 most valuable player in the league.
It’s due to a combination of both, if he had a truly poor year last season and didn’t show the ability to dominate the AFL he would’ve dropped value.Only due to his age not his performances
If he doesnt improve his performance quickly that value will be getting lower
I think it would be best for the club to give him a break and get fit then come back with a clear mind and fitness to perform

If he came out and says he wants to go home at the end of his contract next year i would take either the tigers or bombers 2 top 10 picks and if we could scab an early 20s pick this year.i disagree

Nah we are out.If he came out and says he wants to go home at the end of his contract next year i would take either the tigers or bombers 2 top 10 picks and if we could scab an early 20s pick this year.
If we didn't pull the trigger this year and next year he says I want to go to Geelong or hawks we wouldn't get the deal this year could
They split pick 3 when they didn’t need to. End of story.

Yeah, I'm still dumb founded by what was at the time AND in hindsight (the rare double) one of the worst trade efforts of all time. The best part was the Eagles list management team scrambling and ended up trading Barrass + pick 3 for Baker, Owies and a pick 16![]()
Splitting the pick last year was the best option, as if the eagles hadn't, there is every chance they draft Draper before we could get him and that would have sucked badly. So we are very happy the eagles split it.Just so Im clear...
WC shouldn't have split for Ginbey and Hewett despite being locals, instead should have just taken Sheezel or Wardlaw (who had as much go home noise as Harley)
But they definitely should have split the Reid pick and taken the best WA talent the following year...
But then last year they shouldn't have split pick 3 even though they got the best WA talent plus extras

Most fans recognise their club isn't in the race because they don't have the assets to get a deal done.
Of course WC fans are pumping him up. None of us want him to leave.
yesIs next year compromised by Tassie or does AFL have their thumb in their arse and we dont know?
Then there would seem to be a lot of reasons WC should consider pulling the pin this year if he's said he'll be leaving
Two top 5 picks in this draft and your future first, with a future second round pick going back.I don’t see anyone in this thread that isn’t a WCE supporter suggest he is worth 3 top end first round picks though.
Any club needs their head read paying that
Word is that West Coast would have gone Harvey Langford. Some clubs had Langford as number 2 on their draft boards.Splitting the pick last year was the best option, as if the eagles hadn't, there is every chance they draft Draper before we could get him and that would have sucked badly. So we are very happy the eagles split it.
I had heard different from one of the eagles guys that have generally been close to the mark with comments around trade and draft time..but its all a moot point now anywayWord is that West Coast would have gone Harvey Langford. Some clubs had Langford as number 2 on their draft boards.
We either have saboteurs running our club or they are literally dumb as ****. I don’t know which one is worse. They split pick 3 in a super draft to bring in a 27 year old Baker while their club captain who is 26 years old is being offered unders as they seem to be willing to let him leave to potentially get pick 3 as compensation. All you have to do is convince Harley that his future lies at a club with an equally bleak future. He’ll nominate Hawthorn and the hawks will get the deal done. Our pick and Melbourne’s pick should be enough. That may be two top 6 picks. Would give West Coast potentially 4 top 8 picks factoring in Allen’s compensation.
You’ll get a lot less if he goes to Hawthorn and/or goes to Geelong/Collingwood/Hawthorn next year.
The main reason 21 looks so bad is that WC picked and developed 1 of the three players. Is that serious?
You are taking 27, 18, 19 for sure. I’m taking 20, I don’t know the players from 21.
