Just because your club (more just one weirdo ex president) is deluded enough to count “premierships” before the premiership was established, doesn’t make it correct.


There wasn’t even a ladder before 1888.


On your second point correct, Essendon won four in a row 1891-94.


I understand the pre-VFL days might not be relevant for many newer clubs, but this is a conversation about the historic Victorian clubs, predominantly Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon. All were in the pre-VFL VFA, so of course the premierships count when comparing clubs.
