Figured I'd get this up and going now seeing as it has gone up earlier in recent years. Under a month until the release of the game and the web app will be available on the 15th of September in the UK/US, so likely the 16th for us.

Basic introduction to Ultimate Team for new players:
  • Ultimate Team is a FIFA game mode that is basically a trading card game worked into a football game.
  • You can play matches for coins that you can use to buy different packs of various qualities to try your luck and hope to get a good player/valuable items or use the coins to purchase specific players/items in the transfer market.
  • You have the ability to sell or trade any of your cards, giving you the ability to make a profit through trading.

New features:
  • Brand new in-game, web app and mobile user interface for FUT 14.
  • The Auction House is now called the "Transfer Market" in FUT 14.
  • Brand new Player Cards are now in a "crest" style.
  • This new style applies to In Form cards too.
  • Formation and Morale cards have been removed from the game.
  • You can now change formations whenever you want without having to sink coins in to formation cards to achieve full chemistry.
  • Online Single Matches are BACK!
  • You can now search for "similar" players in the Transfer Market directly from the Squad Management screen.
  • You can now search for players by name.
  • There is a brand new pack opening animation.
  • TOTS and TOTW promotions will continue in FUT 14.
  • FUT Seasons is now 10 seasons long.
  • You can now choose player kit numbers, set piece takers and team Captains.

Chemistry styles:
  • When getting players in packs they will all have a default "Basic" chemistry style which adds +1 to each card stat.
  • New consumables will allow you to apply Chemistry Styles to individual players to give them a specific stat boost.
  • Example - the "Finisher" Chemistry Style will apply +3 to Shooting and Heading.
  • Example - the "Anchor" Chemistry Style will apply +2 to Pace, Defending and Heading.
  • Example - the "Power" Chemistry Style will apply +3 to Defending and Passing.
  • There are 2 goalkeeper specific Chemistry Styles.
  • There will be 20 Chemistry Styles in total.
  • Chemistry Styles will allow you to create a new layer of depth, to make the players in your team stand-out.
  • Chemistry Styles can be used tactically to create team behaviours, to give you more attacking fullbacks, or wingers that will track back, etc. that are consistent with player position.
  • A new "loyalty" chemistry stat has been added which adds +1 to player chemistry.
  • Players obtained from opened packs will be instantly loyal to you, those bought from the Transfer Market will have to play 10 games to get this chemistry boost.
  • As a result, Team Chemistry will now build up as you play more and more games with your team.
  • Managers no longer have Formations, but will apply a +1 Chemistry boost to players of the same nationality.

I'm looking forward to coming up against Giovinco, Ogbonna and friends in 9/10 games.

I do hybrid teams. Some of my ideas have been thrown a little out of shape thanks to transfer deadline day so planning some of them again. I like to plan two hybrid teams to rotate between. Might have to do a solely Premier League team this year with the amount of new players coming in but thinking a La Liga/Ligue 1 hybrid will be fun.

Very nice. I want to make a Bayern/Juve/Spurs hybrid for FUT 14 but it's so hard to come up with a team that works. This is the closest I have came.

It should get 100 chem once all the new teams have gone through. Very hard to make though.

Edit: It actually has 100 chem now once Ribery and Lamela are RW/LW instead of LF/RF.
 
I'm actually warming to the shield design of the cards having not been a fan initially.

I usually focus on one silver team early before branching out and I've got an idea already. Mad league stat wise.

I'm making an excel page to quick reference players to trade with tonight whilst the footy is on.

Problem is I like to have a CDM so not sure lol.

Also wouldn't it be amazing to get this card in your starter pack.

EPL has some beast CDM's.

Baines (now with a 83 rating)
Eto'o (looks ridiculously overpowered with 91 pace, 81 shooting and 86 dribble)
Willian (just because)
 
The first 2-3 weeks of UT are some of my favourite times of the year. Screw the fact that it goes downhill dramatically from there. I love late night trading on the web app and coming home from work to chill out and relax with a few games

I have a nasty habit of PACK OPENING.... just looking for something big.
Will try this year just to put some money at the start and leave it at that. Think I will be a better trader this year too. Got some decent returns at the end of last year.

I usually just chuck a $30 PSN voucher in and then I'm good for the rest of the year

That's usually my plan as well, $120 later though...

All good fun though. Was worth it when j got Ribery last year. I'll put $70 on at the start of 14 and see how I go.

Had a sweet bundesliga team last season (went French in 2012).

Thinking I might do an Argie side this year and might finally try making an Aussie team lol
