Josh Wallis is in the Calder Cannons squad.
Thats good news, isn't he supposed to be very good just we werent sure if he wanted it enough? Hopefully if thats the case he realises he's got a ****ing good opportunity that a lot of kids would kill for, and he can put his name up this year. Best case scenario is him and Cordy both land in the range between our first and second picks so we end up with one gun KPF, one of them a little cheaper than they are worth and one a bargain :p If we want to get really wishful, Jayden Foster kills it too and we end up with all 3 :p

Got anymore on him mate? would love to know what sort of player he is.
so I checked. my source told me to get a life. haha. love it. he just said (roughly) it'll come down to what he puts out in the TAC this year and from here on. no promises made (my question was if it looks like we'll pick him). I think when I asked about if he plays like his brother it was summarised in the part about me getting a life though.

I'll be back in Aus by August so I think how he plays will be well summarised by then on bf by some more articulate and passionate people than my source.

All I've heard about Josh is that he's more outside than Mitch and was better at 15-16 than his brother was - but didn't have the same dedication or drive to pursue the sport too heavily. This was obviously a few years ago though so lots of things change. Looking forward to getting a look at him (and Zaine) this year.

Heard the same.

Macpherson was trying out for the Jets this year as well, so hopefully we might have at least 3 guys in the Tac this year. Be good to see

As I said in the trade thread though, if any of the f/s kids are good enough this year for another club to bid and cause us to use our first rounder, will make it hard to trade for a Patton/Hoskin-Elliott/whoever. Swings and roundabouts...

I didn't see the game but thought both were very poor and other clubs shouldn't waste their bids.
Yes - I heard they are absolute duds too

Sorry guys, neither statement is true, McPherson lives out north and if his is trying out with anyone it would be the Northern Knights.

Josh Wallis was not a patch on Mitch at 14, 15, or 16. He showed some promise that is all.

Yeah your right about McPherson. I was scouting his twitter account looking for info last year and he mentions himself he's trying out for the knights. I don't know why I thought he was trying out for the jets.

Know anything about either of them?

McPherson just missed the Vic primary school team, made the last 40, he was very small then, since then he has been in all the Northern suburbs rep sides going along Ok. He is now starting to grow so he is a chance.

Cordy also missed the same Vic primary school team, he also made the last 40, still very light but does take a good mark, interesting to see how he goes with the Falcons this year. Certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Wallis was always a good player at St Bernards, however not quick and really would have to improve drastically to get a game with Calder.

Foster kept on as an overage player at calder, when you consider his dad struggled at Fitzroy and didn't develop until late i think it is a smart move. Needs to influence games this year, again not quick

Thanks.

McPherson won the league medal last year by this and quite easily too. Not sure of the strength of the league, but good signs still.

I play against Darcy, very good player, I've played rep footy with him and even versed him in the grand final last year. He is very short though. Jade Gresham missed more games though I don't believe it was recorded. they had a great battle in the grand final.
