Do people still like Rex Hunt?

He was ok back in the day but I think his time as a commentator is up. I'm surprised Triple-M signed him up. I have to admit his recent scandals and violence towards bike riders (or at least one bike-rider) have turned me off him. I try to avoid listening to Triple-M when he's calling the game now.

Not sure if he still does it, but back when gave him a chance, the repetition of him using that word got on my nerves quickly enough to put me off listening to him for good.

Rex was awesome in the 90's. 1993-1996 was his heyday.

IMHO the gap between BT and the next best caller on radio or TV is now ridiculously large.

Sam Newman was fantastic when he was on MMM! Too bad he couldn't keep his mouth shut and be AFL a$$ licking sycophants like the rest of them.

Rex doesn't fit in with Triple M. The rest of the team are very laid back and he's trying to be the loudest and has all these pre-written lines that he spends all his spare time trying to figure out how to work them in to his call. It gets to the point where half the time you don't know what he's shouting at, who has the footy and what they're doing with it. He needs to just call the action.

What made BT so great on Triple M is that they all worked well as a team and you were listening to a bunch of mates call the footy. Even when a game was dull, they'd make it entertaining. If Rex can tone it down and fit in with everyone else it might become better listening.
