Recommitted Darcy Parish [re-signed]

Parish is out of contact at the end of the year & is yet to re-sign.

I know at least one club had a lot to do with Darcy during his draft year & has remained in close contact. This clubs recruiter is seen by Darcy as a father figure.
So name the club?

Well who is that club then?

Can't see him leaving anyway, seems to be enjoying out at Bomber land.

Likely a combination of waiting for the CBA and needing to find a bit of touch to justify a bigger increase. Not going anywhere.

"Obviously there's a bit of contract talk going around, but it's not something I'm really focused on. I'm just focused on playing good footy and enjoying my time here at Essendon," Parish told AFL.com.au.

"My managers are going through that with the club at the moment, so hopefully we get it done pretty soon because I obviously have no intentions of leaving the club, because it's been great so far and I'm loving every minute of it. Hopefully we get it done soon."

....

He understands the longer he stays out of contract for next year the more speculation about his future will arise, but the Geelong Falcons product is confident an extension will get sorted.

"I'm one of those blokes who doesn't get too fazed by too many things. I think it will all take care of itself in the end and I'm really looking forward to hopefully getting a deal done and locking it away," he said.

How people can post this in this day and age is amazing. I have seen similar posts about players that have ended up leaving and similar articles

End of the day no one on Bigfooty knows and until the player signs there will be threads like this one.

This article is the same as the one about Parish.

GIANTS midfielder Adam Treloar says he’s going nowhere and feels like he’s helping to build something special at GWS.
The news will be a bitter disappointment to the host of Melbourne clubs circling the prodigious young talent who confirmed his footballing pedigree with another outstanding display on Saturday night against Richmond. “I love the club,” Treloar told the Daily Telegraph. “I’ve got no plans to leave, it’s just a matter of time before I can get a deal organised. I’m definitely one who wants to sign.”

A move from an interstate club to a club in your home city is far more common. Trades within the same city are generally based on playing opportunities which Parish has been given plenty of. Really can't see him going anywhere.

So what's the point of discussion threads then if it's not for sharing any form of news on the situation? For every player that does say something like this and leave, there is the overwhelming majority more who actually stay. This is far more positive than something like Dusty where there is a flat refusal to talk contracts with the media, or Kelly where there has been open discussion of moving clubs and the money offered.

I've heard he wants to play with Laverde, Fyfe, Martin and Giovanni

Like Ablett - everyone has there price. I think he will stay - but ruling it out completely is foolish.

Who knows - Kelly signs with GWS and his 9 mill over 9 gets handed to Parish.

Hard to see that kind of money being thrown at Parish but I do see your point.
If he had that kind of money thrown at him I wouldn't even be angry he left - he'd be crazy not to.
