Daniel Chick - do you remember him more as a Hawk or an Eagle?

Played in a flag at West Coast so most probably remember him as an Eagle.
Personally I remember him as a Hawk because he had his ring finger removed at the start of 2002, and for some reason it tends to be one of those things that sticks in my memory.

However, I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions.

Well yeah, I’m sure he most definitely was introduced to drugs when he joined WCE in his late 20s…

The guy was never a cleanskin.

He played until he was 31 at AFL level and won a flag with the Eagles, I don’t think you can call that a wasted career.

Im sure all clubs have players who occasionally use drugs. WCE had half a team with chronic drug addictions.

Has very serious neurological damage caused by all the concussions he had in his career

People should probably have a bit more respect and understanding than this in 2025 but I guess burying our heads in the sand will continue.

Not sure how many more lives lost it will take for people to get the point. Hopefully not many more

15+ years of ice will also kill neurological function and do that to you. He was one of the biggest problems at west coast from the mid 2000s, self admitted party animal, caught with drugs at the airport in 2009, drug conviction for ice possession and self admitted use in 2019.

It’s rewriting history to suggest that his eccentric behaviour is solely caused by football injuries.
