Here's the recap from someone else since I didn't get to watch all of it.

Said everything may be wrapped up by next Friday. Looking very likely players will be cleared and a team sanction may be given out instead. Player managers are said to be confident players will be spared sanctions, and Barrett's sources claim "players are cleared already". There are apparently 6 who are not completely out of the woods yet but looking likely they will be okay.

Ties in with what I was told last week. No player will be suspended and the matter will be resolved possibly before our clash against the Eagles :thumbsu:

Who do you think his source is?

Doesn't take a genius to realize this is coming from Essendon, find it doubtful Barrett has an ASADA source

Legally, both essendon and asada are not allowed to leak anything to the media. It might be from someone else.

If Barrett reckons it will be wrapped up soon and the players are safe, we can be certain it will drag on for ages and the players are stuffed.

Not really lol.

I wouldnt be doing your load just yet. You may still need some KY for the reiming coming your way from the AFL commission.

"No fault" clause for the players but Barrett said they'd be team sanctions. I assume it won't be insignificant if the side has played with banned substances and played/playing with an unfair advantage (lost points, playing for no points), and if officials are involved they'll be gone.

If what Barrett says comes true, then it is a total disgrace and I will be giving this game away forever.

Not interested in following a code smeared in dodgy, under the table brokering, compromising deals & basically, a big **** you to the public who have made this game what it is.

So the only way Essendon will be cleared is by "under the table brokering"? Not by being clean at all?

cool.

Which then raises the question of where is the information coming from? Most likely scenario is Essendon told somebody their version of events, and that somebody told Barrett. It's hard to imagine ASADA leaking "they'll probably get off" to someone

If any player has been proven in ASADA's opinion to have taken/ been administered PED's, they are gone for 12 months minimum. No slap on the wrist, no whitewash, they are gone.

In a text message sent in January 2012, Mr Charter asks: "Which peptides do you need next?"
Mr Dank replies: "Thymosin beta 4, CJC-1295."
The Herald Sun has previously reported that Essendon has been unsure which type of thymosin its players had been given.
Thymosin beta 4 is prohibited for athletes under anti-doping rules.

Actually he said there was some real real urgency to get this wrapped up and some interviews were brought forward and the interviews would be completed by next Friday. Then it would be up to ASADA and the AFL who can then go off and deliberate about what they need to do. He then goes on to say that Mark Thompson is expected to be interviewed next week "he has been under considerable pressure over this matter and he remains under considerable pressure and he will get his chance to answer questions next week"

He goes on to say "people representing the players are moving towards having the players spared any sort of major sanction on this matter, there is some saying they are already cleared, there is a group of 6 players that need to get themselves totally out of the woods, but people working for them are saying strongly that it will be a team based sanction when it comes. Essendon believes that is is legally clean on this matter"

A nothing story really about some players being called back early for a second interview, although you could read into it that Thompson may be next to follow Robson.

It was Hird, Charter, and Dank at the poolside chat, right?

Disgraceful if true. Like Tippet got sanctioned when the crows did, players should get sanctioned individually when they knowingly break the rules of the league.
