'Multiple clubs believe the Power has offered a seventh-year trigger for Perryman but Port Adelaide is saying that, at this stage, its offer is only six years. The deal is believed to be as much as $850,000 a year at the Power, while Hawthorn had strong early interest but is not offering a contract of that size.'
Let him go there. That deal has hairs on it

Highlights of a VFL footballer with AFL size beating up on 18yo’s and 190cm state league footballers isn’t exactly a strong sell.

Derkson’s behind Hogan, Cadman, Riccardi and Gruzewski up front then Taylor, Buckley, Himmelberg and Aleer down back. This to me looks a case of an agent identifying a market for fringe KPP’s and trying to guarantee his client a couple of extra years on his current contract.

IMO, Dean’s VFL numbers stack up well enough by comparison and I don’t think he’s spent the time forward to suggest he’s an upgrade on Krueger. One of our current KP projects would need to go in order to add another through pro scouting. Hence why there’s no reports of interest from us as yet.

Had this discussion with you previously.

You’re very conservative on KPF talent outside the AFL… and outside of the top 10 or so picks

Several names who were unfashionable late picks or from alternative pathways have gone on to contribute as a KPF at afl level

Mihocek, Mitchell, Larkey, Riccardi, Cox, B Brown, Tom McDonald, tex walker… probably many more examples

And where exactly any time soon are the pies getting the top 5 pick from to land… a Cadman… or at worst a boyd or a schache ?

whether Derkson or someone else… given their relative rarity… if KPP are showing VFL form then they are worth a look if available

Melbourne had its sights set on Port Adelaide’s Dan Houston, who has since decided to head elsewhere to start a new chapter. Carlton is believed to be the front runner.

In our meeting with Houston we should have Fly, Pendles and Sidebottom put their 8 combined premiership medals on the table and then roll out a vcr and play carltons last grand final highlights

Petracca not attending the B&F. I don’t think this is over

He's attending a training camp.
he's lost so much conditioning. Its part of his sponsorship with red bull.

I get all that but it'd be written into his contract to go to the B&F. I also understand the club has supposedly ticked it off but most players would decline on the basis that their B&F is on and they're obliged to go.

I can't think of the last player to miss a B&F by choice since Dayne Beams when he sat in the Harp of Erin in Kew.

what the? Maybe a reason we have lost interest

AFL Integrity has warned Essendon to be vigilant over who it allows into its change rooms after concerns were raised about players’ associates.
It’s believed the Bombers were warned to be aware of associates of recently delisted Bomber Nick Hind, who is known to have a shared friendship group with teammate Jake Stringer.

It’s believed the associates regularly attend Essendon matches and were seen in the Bombers’ rooms more than once this season.

The Herald Sun understands that rival clubs are aware of the situation with Stringer, his friends and AFL Integrity.

After being linked to Collingwood in a possible trade, reports emerged that the Pies have cooled their interest in the dynamic forward.

Situation probably a bit different given his injuries and mental issues the last few months. Let him go on his camp to refresh mentally and physically. Has a long way to go to even get back to elite fitness, and if this is a start to getting him to that point; then no doubt they'll agree.

You’ve provided 8 examples over a 16 year period of which 2 were priority signings and 3 are bare passes as KPF’s. That’s dreadful! For every one of those players you’ve named there’d be 3 from Collingwood alone that are no good.

I’m also not suggesting we have to invest an early pick it’s more that the numbers say draft wise that’s your best shot. Logan Morris was there last year when we took HDM and is playing in on Saturday. In this draft there’s probably 5 options inside the top 30. Derkson though sits squarely in the Schache leaving Brisbane or Krueger leaving Geelong brackets.

If you’d like to continue to shuffle deck chairs on the Titanic go for it, but I’d rather the club target talls in a less speculative way by sticking with one mature age project at a time.

If he wanted to go he would. Where there’s smoke…
