AFLs not like soccer or cricket where there are long periods where nothing happens, the chants aren't needed. You're too caught up in the action.

Unless it's a Welsh International. No chanting but plenty of singing. The Welsh sing hymns and welsh language folk songs that they all know because of Chapel, school and the widespread use of the welsh language. You are dead right. Chanting and singing is associated with soccer, individual cheering with Australian Rules. If cheer squads are chanting to a formula, it escapes most spectators....There is no much scoring in Rugby matches and I don't think there much chanting there either...

There should be songs after goals until the ball is bounced. Nothing else needed.
