Saints too good at Marvel

Seen the headline before.

WE werent good enoough and a lack of effort and pressure killed this one.

41 points down on more than 1 occasion proved too much to overcome.

Some good signs from Clohesy, Clark, Neale, COS, Humphries J Henry

Holmes. Depmsey, Miers, Jezza, PFD, OH, CLose, Stengle and pretty much the rest give SFA in the first 1/2 and you cant do that in this league and expect to win.

Stewy injury hurts too.

On to next week and im off to bed.

Go Catters

Pretty sure I said it'd be a repeat of the 2022 game.

Had given up hope of winning half way through the 3rd, so not too disappointed with the loss.

O'Sullivan was great, Clohesy was great, Clark was really solid, Humphries and Knevitt were great. Holmes was held well for most of the game.

Everyone else was a bit ho hum I thought.

Missing Smith and losing Stewart killed it.

Wish McRae had come to us!

Mason Wood, Jack Higgins and some other spuds absolutely carved us up

Damn that was a hard watch, COS and Clohesy were the only things that made it ok to watch, good effort by those boys! Please take an example of the oppositions pressure from tonight, if we had that with our talent it would be amazing. Jeremy Cameron tonight I hated the way he played or was told to play, we just needed him in the 50.

Saints almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The scoreline flattered us in the end.

We just don't match up well against the Saints, and especially struggle against them at Marvel.

The young fellas showed promise, so there were definitely some positives to take from this match.

On to next week against Brisbane.

13 goals 13 behinds disappointing.

Missed the first half, a look at the stats show that our weak ruck/midfield got spanked a bit.

The parts I watched we looked ok though and the kids had a dip.

Closey and COS v good. Clark looks really slow though. MOC needs to learn to use the ball better.

Saints at Marvel is always a write off. On to next week against the Bears

That was horrible where was that effort in the first half. With good effort we win easily.

Positive was the kids. Clark played his best game in a cats jumper and will be a 200 gamer. Clohesy took his chance and him and osullivan were very very good. Knevitt has work to do but some of his defensive efforts were outstanding.
Midfield is still clearly too thin. Needs a metres gained player like mannagh back asap as we struggled to take territory. When we got the territory we looked good.

Neale is still 'almost'. Drops sitters he shouldn't drop then does the hard stuff better and looks a million dollars. A lot of this season will rest on whether we can get a sports psych to get him and sdk the confidence that they can do it.

Why did it take us three qrts to decide to have a real crack.

This is a trademark of ours, play shit for most of the match only to fall just short.

Always against spud teams we should beat with ease.

O'Sullivan . . . . is anyone else as impressed as I am?
I thought he was so good. Began to dominate the air and even had a go at goal in the dying stages. Looks the complete footballer.

I mean he looks every bit as good as what De Koning was in 2022 and that's just three games into his career.
For how little AFL they've played all of O'Sullivan, Clohesy and Clark did well when for 3/4 of the game most of our blokes were getting thrashed.
