Captain Season 2025

Nank just doesn't scream leader/captain to me.
He bust's his arse, and never gives in, a real work horse, but not a leader IMO.

What are thoughts on Captaincy this year?

If we are going one of the older guys, I'd prefer Lynch as a 2-3 year option while we get a youngster primed for the role

Lynch might not be here in 2026, let alone 2027. I'd rather a captain that gets on the park.

Hope he plays another 40 games for us though (minimum 11)

I mean this as nice as possible....
But he isnt your or my captain.
He was voted by the players ahead of what us fans would think would be the obvious choise.
I'll back him in until he dosnt want it.

Imagine Bauer as captain haha.

Banks seems like a good off field leader (speaks really well) but his game's not there to back it up yet.

Nank for one more year or Broady sounds fine by me

Lalor will make a great captain but that's obviously a few years away

can't see any outstanding candidates to succeed nank. I'd just keep nank until we find our next long term captain.

Vlastuin and Lynch are too close to the end of their career to make the captaincy worth it, but they remain vital leaders. Don't think broad is a good enough player to be a captain, same with taranto.

Keep Nank until Lalor or Smillie are ready, maybe even Gibcus or Balta

Vlastuin VC, or Vlastuin captain and Broad VC I'd also be happy with.

TT hasn’t put a foot wrong , being new as well he’d be a great conduit to the youngest talent incoming . He’s admired for how he goes about it on field and appears a great fella

I'm happy with the current status quo...
Too many new faces coming into the club imo to warrant changing the leadership roles...
Keep the disruption and adjustments to the Club's training, routines, personnel to a minimum...
Need to drive quality standards a 100%...on field and off-field...
Nank is experienced, tough, knows what in needed and what it means to be a Richmond Man...let him lead and be the on field enforcer and protector of the young cubs...
Cut Lunch as VC in the forward line, experienced and tough, knows what it means to be a Richmond Man...
Broady as VC in the backline, experienced and tough...
Taranto as VC in the guts, experienced and tough...
Let the future leaders fight their way to the front to be counted...

Love Broady but his football was pretty bloody ordinary mostly last season. I wouldn't be making a bloke who will be 32 and showing on field decline the captain

Id leave Nank in change, unless a change is deemed necessary. It'd have to be Taranto if so.

Outside looking in but Nank seems like an ill-disciplined mute. Don't see him rallying troops or engaging players on field, I just don't see him as a leader. Players votes need to be veto'd this year and give it to Timmy. Broad might only have another season in him seems a bit silly.

I’d say Vlastuin or Taranto.

Five years ago, I’d have said Vlastuin outright for the 2025 season, but a lot has changed. Still think he can do it though despite some brain fade moments.

I’d also be good with Broad.
