Who would win a fight between these heavyweights.
Johnathan "I'll stand up for my team-mates" Brown
or
Barry "Stay away from my girlfriend Hughesy" Hall

Johnny Lewis has trained 2 world boxing champions - he has said that Barry Hall has the potential to become the Australian Heavyweight champion.

Hall by unanimous decision.

Too fast and too much stamina. Would box circles around him after the first 6 rounds.

Reckon Browny would put up a fair fight, but Hall would win comfortably. He just has that 'boxer' look about him. His got strength and size that could see him have a career after footy. When was the last (if any), VFL/AFL player to become a pro boxer?

The only way Brown would win this fight would be to wait until Hall wasn't looking, or wasn't ready, which is what he does on the field.
Yes he's brave, he takes pack marks, but he also punches blokes who aren't expecting it.
Hall would clean him up in two.

First of all...Isn't it ironic that everyone is saying that "Brown just hits people behind the play".

I can remember a young Barry Hall doing the same thing.

No, Hall used to hit them any time.
I remember a final he went off his tree and wanted to punch anyone who came near him.
Mark Johnson & Chris Grant would be two that quickly come to mind that Brown's belted with them looking at the footy.

I was just about to make the same point. I should point out that Brown doesn't actually hit people behind the play either, his main problem is that when he comes to the defence of his team mates he always seems to go that one step too far. Once he get's that one step under control he'll be fine, he's a team player who sticks up for his team mates who in a year or two many other teams will be jealous they don't have

....and for those of you who say you can't change Brown, just take a look at Hall, he's a prime example of what can be done.

I can remember seeing a home video of Barry Hall in some sort of martial arts contest on Almost Football Legends a couple of years ago. Knocked his opponent out with one strike. Bloody hard thing to do!!!!

Hall in the first round!

Hall is a boxer. Brown is a meathead. Brown would beat the daylights out of most of us but Hall would play with him for a while before putting the lights out. Then he'd go for a jog to work up a swaet.

There is a small article in today’s (Sydney) Sunday Telegraph newspaper by Rebecca Wilson, with the headline Hall can be heavyweight contender: Lewis. The story is about Hall training with Johnny Lewis in the off-season and Lewis’s opinion is that he would like Hall to seriously take up boxing once his football career is over. This is a quote from Johnny Lewis in the article:

He [Barry Hall] has more agility than anyone I have seen for a man of his weight and height.

He is a seriously good boxer with amazing skills who could be anything in the sport.

I can’t find a link for the article on-line.

God I would love to see this fight..

Not because it would be close but watching Hall smack the crap out of Brown would be a sight..

Hall by a mile, unless:

Hall turns his back on Brown (danger time is when the bell rings)
Hall fights on his knees so Brown is hitting a smaller man
Browns old man has a sooky la la

Jonathon Brown is not tough, he is a gutless thug who can only take people out when they are going for the ball and he is sniping from behind.
