Why would GCS accept that trade?
I care also...I care about any hope of winning a flag in the next year or two. Don't think that happens by going to the draft, in my opinion.
Seems like the pies have a different strategy, i guess time will tell but they at least have a flag to show for it.
Except they’ve got other clubs offering plenty for their 1st round pick this year, in fact it’s turning into a bidding war. Certainly not worthlessIt's actually not a bad deal for GC...
Their first round selection this year is worthless to them because their academy player (Leo Lombard) will go around that mark anyway and they'll be able to match a bid for him with a bunch of third or fourth rounders anyway. So you either draft him with that pick or get rid of it and get him anyway.
So in this instance, they turn a worthless pick for them this year in to another first rounder next year. Worst case scenario is Pies finish first next year and their pick goes from 13 to 18. Don't think that'll happen so their pick next year will probably be comparable to what it was this year.
Essentially prices John Noble at a second round pick, which is about right. Both parties win in the trade I think.
No way we should offer more than that....I don't even like that.I wouldn't offer more than F1+F2 for #13, unless it was meaningless picks this year
John Noble is not a R2 draft pick in any way, shape or form. It's actually not a bad deal for GC...

Can’t be done. We’re targeting ESS F2 in our dealings. No way we should offer more than that....I don't even like that.
Next year we will rue that decision when our first Draft pick is in the 60's..

That we'll give them 2 first round next year if Houston can wait a year (current F1 & 2026 r1)What realistic offer could we make without #13?
What are we giving Essendon back? Can’t be done. We’re targeting ESS F2 in our dealings.
A couple of NGA’s to consider too.
Wouldn't be giving that up for Houston now let alone with him a year older imo. Plus we will likely need that 26' pick for Walker jnrThat we'll give them 2 first round next year if Houston can wait a year (current F1 & 2026 r1)
And here i was barracking for PA to go deep into finals... whoopsLooks like Houston will land at the Pies. Joe Richards was the key to it. Looking like it'll be...
Noble + F1 to GCS for picks 13 + 23
Richards + picks 13+23 to Port for Houston (plus some change back in return)
So with the expected changes to F/S and academy picks we will likely need our 2026 1 for Cody Walker if he continues on his current path. That we'll give them 2 first round next year if Houston can wait a year (current F1 & 2026 r1)
That is a terrible trade for Gold Coast, they could get a future first for pick 23. John Noble isn’t worth a top 30 pick.Looks like Houston will land at the Pies. Joe Richards was the key to it. Looking like it'll be...
Noble + F1 to GCS for picks 13 + 23
Richards + picks 13+23 to Port for Houston (plus some change back in return)
Our pick 34 for * F2 seems fair. As they would expect to move up the ladder next year. Can’t be done. We’re targeting ESS F2 in our dealings.

He will kill it in there the contested ball beast that he isAnd releases Daicos to full time midfield
