I understand the idea, and I have read a bit about News Limited thinking it's such a good idea because a media company and a sports book partnering is supposedly a good idea, but do you guys think they will put a dent in the market?

This is where I'm interested to see what happens. Surely when they were busy creating a new bookie from scratch here in Australia coming up against well established companies like Sportsbet, they would have some point of difference or special set up. They need something to make them standout and be profitable. Watching with interest atm

Just saw their latest ad, fairly intriguing, same as Sportsbet with caulfield races this weekend, place a win bet but horse finishes 2,3,4,5 get your stake back as bonus bet but doubled. So I read it as, bet 10 on a horse to win, comes 2-5, get 20 as a bonus.

Yeah I’d put the line at 3 years. I’d say he looks to sell around then as that’s the same time he can sell out of Betmakers.

My guess is he takes the cash, News tries to take a stake in the local operations of Flutter/Entain/whoever buys them. Possibly buyer has to continue Betr brand with News.

I’d worry for Betmakers long term with this. Existing clients already looking at other platforms, and if Betr was sold they’d be a massively expanded tech platform without the turnover to support it.
