Yep, I am slightly cynical as to why that is because it doesn't seem to benefit anyone but the schools themselves.

That someone simply has to be enrolled at a Uni to be a 1-pointer at their corresponding affiliate is slightly problematic too. (an argument for another time).


That's a fair option, another one would be expanding on/tweaking the existing talent league & interleague format.

I'd have more talent league clubs, making them more region-based (reducing travel etc) and then make interleague an u23 showcase game.

My viewpoint is that it increases the opportunity for players to showcase their ability and extends the window of opportunity for those who were injured, late developers, or late to the sport etc.  Give them something to aspire to and perhaps attrition won't be so bad.

The reality is that most comps struggle to get buy-in for interleague so something that drives commitment and gets scouts taking a look wouldn't be a bad thing.
