Meredith was great early and Jordan was great late, Gannon bowled pretty well too, his catching not so great though.

The Hurricanes have to be the favourites now to win it, hosting the final and they have the strongest line up on paper.

Never really rated Chris Jordan but credit where it's due. Was quality tonight.

I don't think he ever jumps off the stats sheet but he bowls the tough overs and Hobart had missed a decent lower order hitter / finisher with the ball after Faulkner went off the rails so he has been a good pick up and he actually stays for the whole tournament which is rare for an international now.

He's a 22 year old in his third innings ever, in a final and had a good crack at it. Like of all the people to blame you chose him.

Fair enough obviously the three who got out for nothing in the top order are where it was lost but as you say it's a final and they've been a top team. They should have been whipping and glancing a lot of those balls away rather than tying themselves up trying to hit them straight so much. Silk also had the issue.

Boof Lehmann thought the Canes where 15 runs short.
But they bowled well with good field placements.Fantastic finish by the Cane bowlers.
Huge moment for the Tassie BBL franchise.Best of luck in the final.
Got a feeling the winner of tomorrow night.Might knock the 6ers of in a tight match.

Great win Hurricanes.
Owen was awesome at the top getting them of to a flying start meaning they could consolidate through the middle on an up and down pitch that was a bit 2 paced.
Jewell and McDermott played the perfect innings in my book. Consolidated after a couple of wickets went down and built a partnership until the power surge come around where they could tee off again.
If Jewell or McDermott had of played a risky shot and got out it would’ve exposed the middle order earlier than wanted.
Well played Canes.

It's a bit naff that the final is on Monday. Put it on Sunday arvo if you want to avoid the tennis

Is there anywhere that it's not a public holiday? Seems pretty well scheduled to me.

Ingredients for a successfully 20 over side.

Get off to a flyer in the opening 4 overs.
Mitch Owen has this covered.

Consolidate through the middle with ability to score quickly and power hit if needed.
McDermott
Wade
Chaudharry
Have this covered.

Go hard in the power surge and back end
Tim David has this covered.

An opening Bowler that can intimidate and bowl high 140s to 150.
Riley Meredith has this covered.

Power surge and death bowlers
Nathan Ellis
Chris Jordan
Have this covered.

Spinning option through the middle
Hatzoglu
Chaudharry
2 adequate options a top quality spinner probably only the missing link.

If all players do there job and play there role the Hurricanes will be 2025 big bash champions.

Think the Canes have been a bit underrated this season.

Not a bad effort by the Sixers to still be in with a chance (however slight) of winning in the final few overs after such a terrible start, but without Vince and Smith they are awfully light at the top of the innings.

I can't see them winning from here, but I won't be surprised if they do, they have an amazing ability to fightback when everything looks hopeless.

I think they are a good batsman, wicket taking new ball bowler to pair with Meredith, and a good spinner short. That is the big bash though. Hopefully they can keep it taped together for the final. Hobart need to win one of these before they lose David.

Great win last night and great atmosphere at the ground.
Hobart have dominated the power plays/surge in both batting and bowling like no one else this year. Our 1st 4 overs in every game have been brutal. Without going through all of it, I'd say all teams lost at least x2 wickets and made on average <6 an over, while Hobart averaged 40+ with 0 or 1 wickets conceded. It's a 15 advantage 4 overs in. The Surge has obviously been dominated by David. I'd say Hobart averaged 35+ across all wins this year in the two overs, again while only conceding 20-25 Max. That's another 15 runs. Hobart is usually 30+ runs to the good from 6 overs if play. It takes a Maxwell type player/innings to get that back.
