It's for more than that though surely. Smith and Bancroft copped the usual ban from the ICC.

All 3 player breached the CA Code of Conduct (which may have set penalties attached).
Created a negative PR disaster for CA.
Ignored the directive from CA after the incident with De Kock for its players to play fair and be well behaved.
Lastly weakened the hand of CA in TV right negotiations.

This goes beyond their actions and extends to the damage they've caused to CA.
