Selectors name squad

11 April 2005

Australian selectors have named the following 23 players in a squad for the Bundaberg Rum Rugby League Test against New Zealand on Friday 22 April at Suncorp Stadium.

An extra player was named from the 22-man squad that was initially planned to cover for players coming back from injury.

The final team will be named following the St George Illawarra Dragons match against the Brisbane Broncos match at WIN Stadium this Sunday 17 April.

its not based on form at all!!!
how come hill, orford, wesser and kite missed out???
orford and hill have been the form halves this yr.... and hill has experience at rep level.....
i think waterhouse is overrated, and i woudnt have picked kennedy, ryles or carroll in the team....
 
I wouldn't put Hill @ 5/8, cause of Lockyer. I would've liked to have seen something like...

yeah u coudnt replace hill with locky, id put him at lock or even off the bench
hes still gotta be there, as with orford....

even though the anzac side is picked entirely on reputation rather than form..... i still reckon we can get away pretty comfortably...
woud be diff if sonny bill was fit.....

id go with slater on the wing and mini at fullback.....
slater is a versatile player and can play anywhere, fullback, wing or centre....
even though mini played some early football on the wing, he is now a specialist fullback and would be wasted on the wing.
 
I would have the Score:

Half Time: Aussies 26 - Kiwis 8
Full Time: Aussies 40 - Kiwis 10

30 points, MOM will be Billy Slater with 4 trys :D I hope
