Jane is much preoccupied this week, embarked upon a journey in the pursuit of her professional engagements. She eagerly anticipates a future occasion to grace this, her most cherished thread.

Liked : The Hawks fight, and a number of players stepping up in others' absence.
Learnt : Eagles taking our 1st rounder instead of Carlton's is causing a lot of angst for Eagles fans.
Hated : The fixturing of two games on Saturday night and then a game late Sunday night. Shithouse.

Thursday night and late Sunday night games are a terrible idea for anyone that actually wants to attend the games. I have no idea why the AFL have gone all in on this fixturing concept.

At least Monday Night Football isn't really a thing in the AFL yet.

They did try it for a while and they will probably bring it back. It will depend on which club who will put their hand up to host it first to get the ball rolling. Prime time TV with national exposure to advertising but none of the clubs are interested at the moment? Crazy!

Learned - Don't hold on to players who want to leave. Take the picks/s and move on.

Hated - Apparenlty '15 meters' depends on the area of the ground you're in.

The problem is, who can go? I live in regional Vic and can make a Friday night game, maybe 10-15 minutes after first bounce, no problem. Sunday night is tough unless I want to hit a roo on the way back home. Thursday and Monday are completely out of the question. Does the AFL just not care about gate receipts?

I would have thought maybe they cared more about TV rights, but the current awful Channel 7 deal shows that they really must not care at all.
