Buckley was also the poster boy for putting 100% into everything he did, including training, diet and rehab.

If Buckley couldn't overcome it, it would be very hard for mere mortals. Not saying it's impossible, but it's a high bar...

Buckley went with surgery option to sort out his hamstring- which it appeared to do - but yes was extremely diligent with all aspects of his training and rehabilitation.

This sounds fair enough on the surface, but name 1 single player with a history of Hamstrings that didn't have to carefully manage them for the rest of their career and without significant restriction on their ability?

Nathan Buckley should be the poster boy for this argument.
Dylan Grimes was close to retiring after 7 - 8 hamstrings and had both surgically repaired. Went on to play 234 games and three premierships.

The guy has struggled to get on the field, no worries - sign him up for 5 years.

Let's hope he can repay the massive faith this club has put into him...
In his last 5 years he has played 17, 18, 18, 22 and 13 games. It's not like he hasn't had injuries but its hardly "struggled to get on the field" territory.

That category belongs to your Cuningham, Marchbank and Martin type unfortunately.

The games he was nursed through last season? Playing in a position he shouldn't be because of the concerns?

He is clearly struggling with reoccurring hamstring injuries and there is no way the club would know that he's over them.

5 years is a significant gamble... like I said, let's hope it pays off...

3rd or 4th season, so 21/22yrs found a split in his hamstring tendon so had surgery, had a series of recurring hamstrings throughout his initial early years…
Well it can be done then. Need to find the same Soft Tissue expert for Cerra if his starts to play up again

Sounds like it’s hopefully been sorted out by the specialist he/club had organized to find the issues…
Let’s hope it doesn’t go down that road…

Saying that. players bodies are all different in their own way, playing a different position throughout the midfield is another factor as well, let’s hope the issue has been resolved because his a wonderful player, just entering his prime years…

Cerra averaged 19 games per season in 6 years prior to 24, so the storyline is not factual.
Sure he had some issues in 24, but pretty sure Cook & Co would not have signed off on the deal if there were likely to be ongoing issues.
The other point is we are not privy to the terms of the deal, so not sure we can make these judgements without all the facts.

What's not factual? How many reoccurring hamstring injuries does he need to have for it to be? He didn't have them before, ok... so what? He's been having them recently and that is what matters like it or not.

He wouldn't have gone to Qatar for treatment if it wasn't a problem...

The facts are:

He has reoccurring hamstring problems.
Him averaging 19 games per season in 6 years prior to 24 is irrelevant.
We are privy to the fact that this new deal is 5 years.

Yeah, I don't need to read the fine print of his contract to form an opinion mate... what I've listed is enough to judge that the club have taken a risk here...

Having averaged 19 games per year is absolutely relevant, there is very much a very defined difference between a player having a issues every year compared,to one year which is the case with Adam.

Happy for you to form a opinion without all the details, pretty sure Cook & Wright and Austin have made a informed decision here and again some posters will always put a negative on decision making without having the detail.

He is 25 and will be a very good player for us going forward .

I'm just going off the facts...

How many games he played 6 years ago is irrelevant... he didn't have reoccurring hammy issues back then. It's just data that misconstrues.

I'm aware of his age and ability... just like I'm aware that signing him up for 5 years given the circumstances is a risk.
