This week is 300 week for the Roys! The comfy win against the Gumbies last weekend was the team's 300th victory notched up in the competition!
With 148 wins at the BJO, 4 at Renown Park and 148 away, it's been an even spread of love from the Gorillas!
Let's see a bit of a breakdown!
I can't take anymore! Every week I beg someone to take captaincy off my mangled hands and every following week I'm back up there slogging away to keep some semblance of order to the team. Advertise the game, post the team, calm Elmer_Hauser down . It's like a vicious circle with no exit! I feel so trapped, and nobody seems to care NOBODY CARES! I just don't know how to extract myself from this hell.
Ok now for a bit of a breakdown of the Roys wins:
Other: 4 wins v Titans FFC & West Coast Magic, 3 wins v Razors, Fremantle Dockers & Dragons (pre-merger), 2 wins v Koalas & Southern Sharks, 1 win v Junkyard Dogs, Blues Brothers & Darkness Eternal, never defeated Hurricanes nor AFL All-Stars
The spread of wins is quite even, though some teams have been tougher to defeat than others!
Our closest rivals are the Gumbies (32-30), the Wonders (29-30), the Bears (17-19), the Warriors (15-16) & while early days, the OOBs (3-2)
We've enjoyed a high rate of success v the Royals & the Dragons, winning quite a few more games than we've lost, v these opponents.
However the toughest teams for the Roys to knock over have proven to be the Bombers, the Demons and the Furies, who each hold sway over the 'rilla in Head-to-Head stats.
The Roys currently trail parity by 23 wins, a deficit we are comitted to further reducing this season. As we keep telling everyone, we're off to a pretty solid start.
It's been a long road to 300 wins for the maroon & blue, with many highs and lows in-between. I'm a low, for instance.
Our first win was a surprise victory over the powerful West Coast Magic in Season 3. We were getting ourselves up off the floor after the Wonders soured our inaugural season by dealing out an L, but the Magic - eventual premiers - showed virtually nothing in the second round while the Roys cohesed like a cohesing cohesoth, winning by 47 points. Players remaining from that team? Just Roylion and myself! larrikin was there for the opposition! Old goal-factory Yippyio was benched in that match after kicking 3 goals 7 behinds.
And our most recent win, the fourth in succession, was at the expense of the Gumbies to the tune of 39 points. The scoring was led by our potent offensive team including 5 goals to Elmer, 4 to both judge judy and Mooch , and donuts for TheGoatBaron but he's been good in the other matches
In response to collecting our 300th W, the entire Roys team came here to this thread (eventually) and learnt about it. Extravagant stuff!The question now, is whereto from here? I dunno I ran out of shit to say! Hooray!!! (or something)
