Lara Hausegger is an intercepting defender who had a huge Talent League Grand Final to finish off her year in style.

The medium defender enjoyed a strong year for the Chargers, finishing a premiership winning captain in the 2023 Talent League season.
The 18-year-old delivered arguably her best performance in the club’s Grand Final victory, finishing with six sixteen disposals, five marks, three tackles and two-inside-50s.
Hausegger arrives at the club with three games of VFLW experience, having played for Collingwood in the 2023 season.
Gowans said he is looking forward to seeing Hausegger develop in the Swans backline.

"Lara is a running halfback that I think will bring some composure to the backline," said Gowans.
"She's very hard at the footy, but she also with ball in hand makes some good decisions. She's a real competitor, and a great tackler, and she reads the flight of the ball quite well."

I'm surprised that I haven't written already that Lara is my favourite of our 3 draftees. I'm really hoping she can have a big future. Congratulations to her and her family and supporters on her debut.

Lara is having a breakout season. Hasn't missed a game I don't think. She is my tip to win most improved player this season at this stage (even though I could make a case for my favourite, Tanya Kennedy). I really hope she can settle and have a long career for us. Has lots of composure and common sense and has taken up the invitation to take the game on as well as defending staunchly.
