Archie reminds me of an old Essendon type player of the 80s/90s... A very good ratio of hardness, good skills, undying determination and absolutely hates to get beaten... He's not perfect but he's perfect... I love him!

I even forgot he was eligible so I don't blame them. He has the composure and decision making of an experienced player. Hard to remember he only played 8 games.

for pick 54, obviously players will have some rough spots, so whatever, we can live with the kicking, but I'm surprised not to see more commentary around the kicking

you don't rate his kicking? i think i'd have him a top five kick in the side...

At pick 54 he is a huge bonus. He plays hard all the time. On one occasion last night he misread the bounce, looked a bit silly and just went at it with gritted teeth and won the ball back. He really impressed me big time with that effort. I think we might have a 200 gamer here.

His reaction when Melbourne kicked a goal (I think their second?) when he was beaten says it all. He was incredibly pissed off. Absolute competitor of a player, can't believe he's only 19.

I think because he plays like a 70 gamer, not an 8 gamer.

One of those rare players that just slots in, never to play VFL again unless coming back off injury.

Hates to get beaten. When Pickett took a mark against him he punched the ground with purpose, love it.

Like i said players with Roberts mindset is what the club needs more of

I even said to my misses during the game this kid has more composure at 8 games then McGrath does at his 200 games

Yeah I mean he’s listed at 184… so he’s actually deceptively tall. I think it was the physical stuff, and he did get found out a bit on the weekend (I can recall two kozzie Pickett moments he was out bodied)… but you can tell he has the mongrel, he’s dirty about it, and in a couple of seasons time his body will be that much stronger.

again, and I’m a broken record, but when you draft the kids that run 6minute 2krs, you can confidentially expose them at AFL level becuase you know they’ll run out the game. See Durham and Martin as other examples.

They don’t need 2-3 preseasons to build the tank, and they’re not back at square one if they get injured along the way.

Picking lads with great aerobic base is the best improvement I’ve seen under Rosa.
