I got severe cellulitis and ended up in Sandy hospital after an ulcer on my big toe became infected. 11 days in hospital and buckets of IV infusions later, I was lucky not to lose my whole foot.

 I also found out the hard way that I’m allergic to penicillin when they ran the first IV and I had a severe anaphylactic reaction, lost consciousness, my heart stopped for 30 seconds and my BP dropped to 40/20. I woke up in the resuscitation room surrounded by relieved nurses and doctors.

The problems lingered and I was admitted 3 more times before it was fully resolved. As Brut Though posted it’s rare, but it definitely happens. I really feel for Paddy. I hope he gets well soon.
