We now have a 6 - 5 spilt - 6 home games at the MCG & 5 at Marvel!

Next year also sees the Blues play 11 of 23 games at the MCG, with six of these being home games all against Victorian opposition.

couldn't ask for a better start

Easier half of this season was the second half, we were 9-2 and flying….i take the draw with a grain of salt, it’s a lottery as to who is playing well at the time you play them

Exactly!

If we played Hawthorn, St.Kilda or arguably the dogs in the first 4 rounds we’d have beaten them.

Conversely we couldn’t get near the lions at the Gabba in our second stint there.

You play whoever’s in front of you at the time. If you’re good enough you’ll prove it in September.

I don't believe North will be the gimme that others think they'll be. Suspect they may jump up a few places on the ladder next year which usually wins those teams win 2 or 3 games that they shouldn't.

At some point that young talent has to start materialising if not in a full blown finals run then at about the level the Gold Coast Suns currently sit.

100%

Eagles have enough pieces that they are likely to be more competitive in games, not sure they improve the win/loss yet though.

Tigers have a handful of excellent players, if the kids step up there may be a surprise or two in store, but likely in a world of pain across the season. A look at their list is quite scary maybe 10 locks, another handful who are decent players with fifty or more games up. The majority of the rest could be described as speculative, at best. They have chosen not to stock up on experienced role players, unless they are planning a big investment in the SSP period.

Think every other club would be viewing themselves as finals worthy, so will be another tough season to predict from week to week, let alone who will make up the eight.

Thursday night games every week in the first 16 rounds. Carlton play 3 of those. Not happy with this many Thursday night games especially if during a school week.

Wonder if old sooky la la Chris Scott will complain about having an extra bye early in season can’t wait for his comments on this one probably be as quiet as a church mouse

So far we know for Carlton:
OR - BYE
RD1 - Richmond @MCG (Thursday night)
RD2 - Hawthorn @MCG (Thursday night)
RD3 - TBC
RD4 - Collingwood @MCG (Thursday night)
RD5 - West Coast @AO (Saturday afternoon)
RD6 - North Melbourne @Marvel_Stadium (Friday afternoon)

Going to assume RD3 will likely be interstate otherwise we will have a bunch of travel late which isn't ideal.

Round 11 V GWS Saturday 1.20pm at Marvel.
Roos v Pies at Marvel 7.20 that night - so called "double header" for Sir Doug Nicholls Round.
Round 9 - Saints host us at the G (unsure of day & time).
