How bummed would Ballantyne be to see that appointment? I think we have enough ex-Freo players involved and pretty happy to see outsiders being brought in, especially ones like Aish and Le Cras who Longmuir has had an association with. Good, targeted recruitment.

I don't think Ballas would be to miffed, too busy with the nags and the "little" people who sit on them.

Nathan Wilson's instagram story has him waiting in what appears to be a medical facility, with scans and crutches.

Nice.
i reckon he was pissed at freo for making him play through injury last year!
He went to the media waiting outside for freo players getting scans and told them he was injured when it is normally kept quiet when a player is playing through injury, then told people on twitter he was playing injured all year hampering his form... and now is straight out uploading photos of himself at the doctors and tagging freo, leaving very little room for it to be not known :tearsofjoy:

Love this. Wouldn’t be due back for nearly a month

Aish suits the purple! Glad he's come back early even though he finished up later.

Cameron McCarthy - Didn't he come back early last Pre- Season
Connor Blakely - Same as McCarthy?
David Mundy - Earned his time off
Nathan Fyfe - Earned his time off
Nathan Wilson - I've seen his Insta story - crutches and xrays - surgery?

Well I just got home from the burn. Caught a few glimpses of the crew doing run throughs and some hand ball drills. My kids didn't exactly cooperate with my grand plan to do my bit for all you hungry pre season fan-atics.
Son son with kick to kick with Valente ...who left the track very early. Not a great sign. Great to see big Sandi milling with the new look assistants. Lecca on board...yes he is skills personified but I'm so anti the wetoast it will take me a while to trust seeing him in our glorious colours.
Too soon for my liking, the kids dragged me reluctantly off to the splashpool and no matter how much I begged...my wife refused to let me sneak back to watch some more. And so as bad boy benny's belly tat would say, "suck is life".

Wilson probably posted that story about his scans on social media so that he wouldn't be lambasted in this thread for not giving up his entitled holidays and turning up to training early. How about we hold off the judgement on players until we see what shape they are in?

Happy for players to take their full break if that's how it works for them, with the proviso they turn up ready to go. Sure I like guys like Aish and Acres getting in early with their new club, but not an expectation. McCarthy sits in a precarious position having been given a one year warning....errrr, deal. I also think his window of opportunity to achieve that is going to become smaller and smaller, and he could quite quickly become irrelevant.

I think you’ll find most successful people in their field don’t use all there entitlements or work whilst forced to use said entitlements.
Dardy is Looking like another highly talented thumb sitter recruit to add to our rather large list we’ve accumulated over our 25 years

An interesting comment from Sturt when someone asked if he was going to wear a helmet. He said that after a year between concussions, the brain resets itself. So if he gets another concussion, It would be like his first one again and his previous problem with them shouldn't have an effect.

We need fresh faces, approaches to the forward line- an area we struggled with for years. Le Cras wasn’t all over the ground defensively. He was classy and with ball in hand, did elite. He could kick goals without having to be over the top. A small forward line of Rioli, Cripps, Le Cras and Ryan got the job done last season. That’s something to be mindful of.
Ballas isn’t going to offer us anything new. It’s a good appointment for mine. Going the skills approach, rather the school of hard defensive pressure.

that sounds like something someone that’s had multiple concussions would say
