Seriously though is there any way here we can score a handful of wickets in a row? Nothing looks threatening and the ball is only getting older. If Lyon is to take the overs he’ll be a bowl 10 overs and let them make a mistake type bowler at this stage of the test match not an every ball could be a wicket type.
Maybe....

team is flat as so probably not

Cummins is short of a gallop

Starc Hazelwood tired

Marsh bowling poo

maybe Lyon who knows

looks like the team has given up

Hence my original point... do we have a dud ball? it's hardly seamed and slow-mo replays show we've had plenty of upright seam deliveries that could/should seam.
I don’t know enough about cricket balls to answer that but devils advocate. Is there THAT much difference in the seam bowling/position abilities of the respective bowlers that would account for such a stark difference in movement? I honestly cannot believe the difference can be that much.

I refuse to believe they’ve given up. That would be incredibly soft. Similar to afl fans copium about their team “tanking for the draft”. I think they’re trying their best but they’re just not good

Whats the cricket equivalent of “just kick it long!”

Just bowl yorkers?

For this team…

Bowl 100 bouncers and wait till they don’t plonk it into the stands

Based on the first innings, there was bugger-all discrepancy in terms of the two teams and their ability to move it off the pitch. At the tail end of our batting innings, movement seemed to lower and made it a bit easier for Starc/Hazlewood, but that ball was 40+ overs old and the seam had definitely softened throughout the innings, whereas we've got a brand-new ball just ~1hr later and there's two-fifths-of-****-all seam... anyway, maybe it is a skill issue...

The batting lineup has been not good for 5 years yet selectors wouldn’t try things perfect example last summer against minnows

Look you’re a Richmond fan so you’re used to winning and being good but as a st Kilda fan I’m used to acknowledging sometimes the players just aren’t up to it.

I, and a few others, said at the end of last summer that this side needed to be gradually refreshed, so not retiring later on all at once, as we have way too many well into their 30s. I was worried about this series for that reason. We were barely holding on last summer. For some, this was one year too many.
