Both these sides are coming off wins, and for the Roys, it was their first of the season, making it official that they are ‘bad but not Royals bad’ after accounting for the Furies. The Gumbies have been pretty good this year, they have a 4-2 record and sit a larger bee’s - maybe hornet’s - dick ahead of the Warriors who have slipped to fifth. A win here would move them up to second thanks to the Wonders having a bye.

Given their 0-5 start to the season, it would be understandable to have forgotten the Roys actually played in a grand final last season. I like the Roys so I’ll try not to mention how the Dragons beat them too much in this thread. But in case it wasn’t clear, they came runner-up last season. To the Dragons. But enough of the fun and let’s talk about this fickle sim.

The Roys have actually scored more than eight other teams, and yes technically most of them had played one less game, but let’s not let facts get in the way of a good point. However it is the Roys defence that has been leakier than West Coast’s backline last season. The Gumbies have a really balanced offence and defence, but will want to boost their percentage given they are only ahead of the Warriors in that stat.

One player who is a dominant goalkicker is Mooch and one of the stars of the competition. After another nine-goal haul last week to help sink the Furies, and I for one am looking forward to seeing him tear up the competition and get robbed of an All-SFA jumper thanks to having a life outside BigFooty.

The likes of 3KZ is Football and SpecialBruce played well last week, racking up around 30 touches each, while Mobbs, Roylion and fitzroybowiedog are part of the furniture at Brunswick Junction Oval. So much so it’s reported someone tried to sit on Mobbs at the club’s fundraiser!

Enough of the Roys, and let’s talk about the Gumbies. They had a hard-fought win over the Bombers last week and are always thereabouts in contention. With nine individual goalkickers contributing to their 12 goals, they know how to share it around. DenieD had a ripping game in the win, while the likes of Falconista and GWS Goose are always strong through the ruck-rover combination.

Realistically the Gumbies should win this one, with the key being if they can contain Mooch. bone2468 which sounds like an inventory item seemed to do well moonlighting as a Qooty player last week, so they might have the job again. Gumbies by 12 points.

That's all you can ask for from a team-mate. That and providing value on field. How have they performed so far?
They did okay for a first game. We aren’t all bog first up.
