Welcome to Round 15, International/Remembrance Day Round. Each game is hosted in an overseas country and is a great opportunity for players and Qoaching staff alike to experience a new culture and create lifelong friendships and ties. We also commemorate our fallen military comrades as Remembrance Day is on the day after the match.

We have travelled on a bloody long flight to get here, but we finally arrived in one piece in New York City! Our match however, is being played just over the river in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Don’t worry, you can still see the NYC skyline from there. The Warriors will be feeling spiritual being so close to their namesake of Coney Island, where people get candiehappy and A Bit High. Meanwhile, JackNah_8 is trying to find the quickest way to get from MetLife Stadium to Arthur Ashe Stadium so she can watch the tennis… Are we sure she’s going to be fully focussed on this game?!

Whilst the United States is not part of the Commonwealth, the 11th is special to them as Veterans Day is observed and is both a federal and state holiday. It is distinct from Memorial Day in May, which honours those who have died while in military service, whilst Veterans Day celebrates the service of all US military veterans. Players may wish to pay their respects by attending a memorial ceremony, a military parade in downtown New York, or a salute at a military cemetery. Lest We Forget.

LAST TIME THEY MET
S27- Roys FFC 12.2 (74) lost to Coney Island Warriors 24.11 (155)

What a shellacking!

CURRENT LADDER POSITION
Warriors - LWLLL 10th on ladder and lost to Bears last week
Roys – LLLLL 8th on ladder, lost to Hawks and are clinging on to finals hopes for dear life!

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Warriors:

comewhatmay – She celebrated her 100th in style last weekend with 13 hitouts, 18 disposals, 3 tackles and a goal. No doubt she will pull out all the stops for her team this round. She is currently #1 in the league for hitouts.
Morganashlee – another of our fine female SFA players is Morgs. Last round she massacred several opponents in the backline and delivered 18 disposals and 6 marks. Can she hold back the Roys’ formidable forward line?

Roys:
Rising Star nominee GCB85 played a ripper game on the wing last week with 27 disposals, 10 marks and 1 goal, equating to 104 DT points.
Mooch – The league's leading goalkicker on 62, and last week he kicked 6 of them! Can this legend win that highly-coveted medal?

PREDICTION
It’s a strange anomaly that the Roys have not won a fixture in this round since Season 21. However, the Roys have a bit more to play for with finals beckoning so… Roys by 20 points.

Captains, please have your team sheets in by 11:59pm ADST Thursday 7th November 2019. Cheers!
