Dragons FFC vs Gold City Royals at Dragon Island
VS
This Sunday October 7th we celebrate the birthday of Priest Holmes
Priest Anthony Holmes (born October 7, 1973) is a former running back who played eleven seasons in the NFL.
Holmes earned a Super Bowl Ring with the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV. After rushing for just over 2,000 yards in four seasons in Baltimore, Holmes experienced breakout success after signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent in 2001. During his seven-year stint with the Chiefs, Holmes was a three-time All-Pro, three-time PRO bowl selection and was named NFL offensive player of the year in 2002.
Up forward for the Royals this season Blacky has been an unstoppable force and is a big chance to take out the FRED as he continuously makes a mockery of the full backs of the SFA.
Off the field the Dragons have been under fire from many fronts with posters lining up to rush the in zone or get on the end of a hail Mary in order to score a cheap try Blaze Storm has been an immovable object for the Dragons and rock solid in defence of the club.
(por_please_ya great work)
You don’t want to miss when these two forces collide on Sunday.
Who's Hot
Wayne's-World (Dragons) - It often seems like WW is holding up the Dragons with his volume of posting, and that's no mean feat for a rookie. His form at ruck rover has been solid as well, but he'll come up against one of the best taggers in the game in RodneyDangerfield so will need to be at his best.
Pie 4 Life (Dragons) - P4L's form at half forward this season has been nothing short of exceptional and he even made a brief cameo in the ruck last week. Tends to add 2 or 3 goals each week and links up the ground well, taking marks and acting like a 7th midfielder at times. The veteran will need to be at his best to break open a dour Royals defence.
Thatsapaddlin (Royals) - Thatsapaddlin has had a purple patch in the past fortnight and comes into this game off the back of an extraordinary 'double-double' against the Wonders. He finished with 10 tackles and 10 frees for and will be looking to apply his physicality against a Dragons side some deem soft.
Who's Not
PhenomenalV1 (Dragons) - He's considered by many to be the best poster at the Dragons and the future of the club but his on-field performance has been disappointing to say the least. He's kicked 33 goals in 10 games and can go quiet from time to time.
Smartys Power (Royals) - He started the season in amazing form but Royals full back Smartys Power has dropped off considerably in the last few weeks and conceded a couple of bags. He shipped 9 goals last week to veteran FF okeydoke7 but will play against the aforementioned Phenom, meaning its a perfect opportunity to bounce back.
Form Line
Dragons FFC - WLLLL
Gold City Royals - LLLWL
Last Time They Played
Season 25, Round 16
Gold City Royals 11.11 (77) defeated by Dragons FFC 15.14 (104)
This loss consigned the Royals to a 9th placed finish whilst the Dragons went on to lose to the eventual premiers in a preliminary final. GreyCrow, Thatsapaddlin and Cloud_ starred for the Royals whilst Ljp86's 3 goals and The Half Back's 25 touches propelled the Dragons to victory.
