It was a flawless first 7 weeks for the Warriors who had a bitterly disappointing campaign last season. That was until the Furies brought their golden run to an end. Now, they have the opportunity to embark on a new streak against the Demons who have made a solid start to the season after disappointingly missing the 8 last year. Back to back wins sees them 5th and pushing for that double chance.

Season 25 Round 15 - Mount Buller Demons 11.5 (71) lost to Coney Island Warriors 16.16 (112) @ Snow Dome

It was a comprehensive win for the Warriors in what was really a game for pride.

The spearhead forward has played a pivotal role in the Warriors' revival booting 37 goals in the first 8 games as he looks to claim the Fred medal. Unlike his Essendon namesake, he was able to get his body fit and firing in the pre-season and it has paid dividends. deaneus will need to be switched on from the bounce if he is to nullify Joe's influence.

Freofalcon
Whilst not dominating the hit-outs, FF leads the SFA this season in DT points. He plays as an extra midfielder with his mobility, footy smarts, ability to win the ball and his work in the clearances. All the talk this season has been on rucks but FF has proven that all you need is another tall midfielder. manangatang needs to make sure that his hit outs actually go to advantage or else it will get messy for them in the clearances.

Leading the comp in tackles, this man is a bulldozer. He has left many opponents dazed and confused (within the spirit of the game of course) and will need to bring it with him if he's to thwart the dominance of Freofalcon and his midfield clan.

He's re-invented himself on the half-forward line possessing a bag of tricks. With his high marking and freakish goal sense, the Demons have been able to regenerate some excitement into their line-up. c2r is the type of player who only needs 3 possessions to completely turn a game on its head. Stats can be very deceiving.


The Verdict:
The best offence (Demons) against the best defence (Warriors) will provide an intriguing battle. The Warriors' defence will be majorly tested with the Demons' possessing many forward weapons but the battle will be won in the midfield. The Dees' don't have a terrible brigade but, with FF in the mix, the Warriors will have the upper hand in the middle. This will be where the game is won and the Warriors' are just too good to drop 2 games in a row.

Coney Island Warriors vs Mount Buller Demons at Van Cortlandt Park (MOTR)

Match of the Round Status should ensure a big crowd at Van Cortlandt Park. Some may have been turned off by not seeing Wooshette and her #streakcontinue. Hold on I have been informed that woosh doesnt streak for anybody. In a major upset the Coney Island Warriors had immortality snatched from them quicker than an Anne Rice novel. In a stunning upset the Warriors lost to the Furies x 25 points.

Its not as if the Warriors stumbled around. Their good players played well. Just the opposition played better. DapperJong , Reginald Perrin and Frankston Rover all got a lot of touches and BigJoeD_ again got a handful to keep in touch with Mooch on top of the FRED leaderboard. I dont think the team can be disappointed, just happens.

On the other hand the Mount Buller Demons dominated against the Blunders beating them by 37 points. A handful of players kept the DT fanbois happy with 4 scoring over 100 points manangatang , DemonJim , Tarkyn_24 and cats2rise all getting amongst it. ABray10 had 6 kicks for 5 goals 1. Thats some solid work. If the team can connect again like that you should go a long way. Please just go

As deserving MOTR status this is one of the harder ones to pick. Is the #streakstartingagain going to trend or is #streakhangover the new one in town? I think there will be a slight hangover and the Demons to get up
