Adelaide - B+
Solid draft for the Crows and the most predictable as the draft nights approached with them getting locals Sid Draper and Tyler Welsh. Both should be just about ready to go with Draper adding some slickness to Adelaide's midfield. It's hard to argue against his selection...
...Not bad for a half forward but not elite. He has also done it once, so in my opinion it's too early to tell how good he will be. DarcyJones was recruited as a small forward. True midfielders that do well forward are pretty rare. Guys like Dangerfield and Dusty Martin would be examples...
My Depth Chart…
Key Defender: Aliir Aliir | Miles Bergman | Brandon Zerk-Thatcher | Esava Ratugolea | Xavier Walsh | Jacob Moss
General Defender: Kane Farrell | Logan Evans | Lachie Jones | Josh Sinn | Ryan Burton | Dylan Williams
Inside Midfielder: Zak Butters | Jason Horne-Francis | Connor...
Phillipou had 15 contested possessions against Adelaide. Please don't stereotype him as an outsider.
( So far Dow hasn't come near that. It was just a dream when he was first drafted ).
So… after the draft so far…

...was drafted as a mid, 3 years later and he’s averaged a goal a game. Rhylee West had very similar mid/forward times as Reid. Even DarcyJones did his best work through the midfield, played forward largely out of necessity with his size.
I don’t see any reason why Reid can’t have an impact...
Good comparison, Remboy. He's a replica of Darcy. RTB loves him and I reckon he had a fair bit to do with Tobie's selection.
Let me put to rest the misconception that he's just another half-back flanker. Tobie is an emerging midfielder. He can play inside or outside and has the burst of speed...
Western Bulldogs key position defenders are just failed forwards. I present Liam Jones and Rory Lobb
There is a big elephant in the room (pictured below) at the Bullfrogs that both 22yo Jamarra and 21yo Darcy went past Astronaut this year. Not to mention Tim English is more than valuable...
I hope this is our r1 23 but you just know Fyfe, Walters, Omeara will be selected.
I posted similar way back in the thread. We must make some tough calls
Agree. The other one I would add is Arty Jones. I liked his game as the harassing forward in the last round, unlucky to be dropped for the final.
With a big preseason, he can add to our mix in a position of need.

Here's my rough breakdown of key/small-med forwards I would have been happy using a first round pick on.
Key forwards: Thilthorpe, Morris, Curnow, McKay, Treacy, Amiss, J Cameron, Andrew, Walter, B King, Cadman, Hogan, Van Rooyen, Larkey, M King, McDonald, Naughton, Ugle-Hagan, Sam Darcy, Allen...
What the **** are the giants doing? Midfielders draft and they take two small forwards when they already have too many small fowards.
Bring DarcyJones home to save him from this rabble

I couldn't resist making a few changes late. Mainly for Tom.Bell, who is making a late charge. Toby Jones (S) didn't even nominate and I still have him in the list. He's an exciting player and will be a WAFL star. Clubs missed out...
Haven't put my training thoughts down for a bit so I'll share some. Had a rough few days, followed by my birthday, so been a bit absent.
I'll start by saying it was exciting to see Jack Carroll out there. Probably sounds silly, but he reminds more of Paddy Dow that Paddy Dow does. Seriously...
...be against trading 36 for a future pick and one later in this draft. Dennis and Hayes I'd target in those 50s.
Hayes reminds me of DarcyJones. Rhys Unwin another option too, plays similar to Joe Berry but more of a midfielder and less of the goal sneak that Berry is. Will be somewhere in...
Dominos.
For the dogs specifically:
⭐You could go from getting Naughton to selecting from Lochie O'Brien, Aiden Bonar, Jarrod Brander, Matthew Ling.
⭐Imagine if Bontempelli didn't want to stay in vic so you were fored to bypass him.
You can't take players from other states either for the same...
