I have a feeling Jack will surprise a few people and make a few here eat their words. Will end up easily justifying his worth to the club

His camp have made it clear they are waiting to see how much we improve. I don’t like this from a senior player as he’s the one who should be driving the improvement rather than waiting for it.
Maximise the amount - sure. But he can do that now just about.

Arguably, the holes aren’t as gaping as we may have thought.
Backline of Corr, Logue, W Dawson, Comben/Whitlock plus Archer, Goater, Hardeman, Bergman etc
Forward line of Larkey, Comben/Whitlock, Teakle, Zurhaar, Duursma, George, Ford
Not including K Dawson, Pink and Maley

That’s just rubbish. Since future pick trading has come in natural draft order just hasn’t meant the same thing. Clubs have continually traded future picks then got back in with other trades. It’s the new norm.
Forget about the 2025 draft order. It will change many times tonight and will...
So the trade aside (I actually think it was a good trade under the circumstances) I wonder why we went for Matt ahead of his brother who was slightly higher rated? Or Shanahan for that matter? Could it be character related? Or does Clarko like versatility that much?
Does the club see him...
Well, without “torching” we’d end up with [emoji638][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] midfielders as they always seem to be the top picks every year.
So we drop from pick [emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] to pick...
Yes, and that’s our issue. But we can just use [emoji638] and then hopefully trade back in using F[emoji638] once other clubs see some of their targets disappear off the draft board. All we really need is one more pick. Then use [emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji638] and will be one around...
Logically speaking, there won’t be a deal with Richmond, if there hasn’t been one already. I can understand why some clubs wait for the draft night to do their pick trades, as they want to see who is still available and how the draft pans out. But given we are talking about pick [emoji638] here...
It’s one thing having a secondary market, and completely another to hand a home game to the opposition, thus compromising our ability to get a result.

I’m not here to convince you or anyone else. And I don’t have a direct source. But I’ve been told this by a bloke who does have several sources and is on the money more often than not, so I believe it’s worth sharing.
Am I saying it’s 100% factual? No.

I get the feeling he was pushed. Coaches must have given him a rocket and targets to meet in order to get a game and he decided it was all too hard. He might have been offered a settlement as part of that push
Pick 2 is still pick 2 in any draft. Even if the top 6 is roughly equal, clubs still have their preferences and they pay to get guaranteed access to their preferred player. Same as when Essendon gave us their F2 just to move up a couple of spots to draft Harrison Jones. We took Comben with our...
Giving up 25 and 44 is hardly "jeopardizing our draft hand". We have kept the prized pick 2 and gave away two ok picks that are easily replaceable. If we want to use our F2 we should be able to obtain a pick in the 20s from one of the teams with academy bids who find they don't want to lose the...
What’s the inside word as to why he hasn’t played a game for them and why they were going to delist him after just two seasons?
We keep absolute spuds for longer
