Balta mainly took the best key starting the year though, remember he destroyed tex round 2? when he started to get shaky in games they switched to Young, and later in the year it seemed Young took the #1 forward. have to say though, the guys up the ground allowed way too much ball into our d50...
AFL news 2024: Richmond training notes, Nick Vlastuin injury, Noah Balta forward switch | Herald Sun
Richmond defender Nick Vlastuin has become the latest player limited by concussion this pre-season, just weeks after recommendations to limit contact at AFL training.
Vlastuin has been in...
Nice pack mark from Kosi too. If he and Balta can clunk marks up forward, it’ll be very handy! Lynch will too whenever he returns, could be a very dangerous trio
Would provide invaluable advice on the track to our young defenders, and I highly doubt he’ll play the 21 games needed to get to 250, so could we potentially see a retirement before mid year, and stay on in a coaching capacity? I’ve probably jumped the gun a bit there but it’s been done almoat...
You’re writing off the young talent while the rest of us write off Grimes. For one, he’s hardly trained all pre season. He was awful last year and in 2022. The reason Brown, Trezise etc have barely played is BECAUSE of Grimes (for example. I’d have McIntosh close behind in terms of holding back...
Saw Pickett in a photo at training today so unless he did a mad dash by plane after lunch then maybe it was just a video call? Or delayed again? Been looking online, no articles or info out atm
Yep, and those were mostly when Lynch was out. Freo draw, North loss and Gold Coast loss (when he got injured first 5 minutes). That’s 10 extra points in the bag, would’ve sat us equal on points with Melbourne (2nd), Sydney (3rd) and Collingwood (4th)!

The 2017-2020 dynasty is done and dusted. Now it is over to Yze to plot a path to the next premiership.
There are still 15...
Balta has a leap on him, maybe not to the extent of Naughton but they’re both a great contested mark. Although Balta is quicker at ground level. Anyway, I’m hoping it’s just a contingency in case Lynch isn’t right for round 1, and he stays down back
Naughton comes to mind when I think of who Balta could resemble as a forward. Great contested mark, athletic, sometimes wild shots at goal. I’d take it (although I do prefer him down back).
