Marsh is nothing like stoinis. When Mitch is in form and able to bowl he's one of the best on the planet. Unfortunately that hasn't happened too often. Stoinis is just Stoinis.
He's strong with a great eye, unfortunately he has no grasp of his game. If he can figure it out he could be anything, right now he should be playing grade cricket.
Renshaw has improved but I still don't think he's good enough. Mcsweeney is nowhere near it, hasn't been prolific at any stage of his career. Only averages 42 in grade cricket and 36 for his state, was a baffling selection even more so picking him to open.
I'm biased as **** but Inglis is a much better keeper than Carey, Carey's batting has been excellent for at least a year now. Inglis is in ripping form and should be in even if it's as a pure batsmen. Not picking people when they're in top form is why we have so many issues now.
His best is good, he was nowhere near it in 24. He's being played out of position because we have better options in the middle and he struggled at half forward. His kicking is amongst the worst in the league and that's the main reason I don't think he'd be a starter at too many other clubs. Most...
Agree, I'm not expecting too much from a raw 19yr old against one of the best bowling attacks in the world. I'd much rather watch a 19yr old with a massive future fail than bangers or Harris. Smith to open and Inglis to five is probably the only other option.
That has nothing to do with the current situation, we replaced a retired opener with a bloke who averages 36 at state level and doesn't open. It was a terrible decision. Konstas 💯 deserves his selection.
He's also the only bloke that's captained a successful side on our list. Has been a part of an elite program and will immediately be in our best 10-15 players, JY has done none of this. I'm not sure Jy is a walk up starter at too many other teams.
Matters **** all really. Looking forward to the young fella debuting on boxing day. Still think Inglis is the in form bat in the country and he should be in, **** marnus off and put smith at three.
I'd rather Hunt than Harris. Harris is the definition of a flat track bully, absolutely cannot play a ball moving away from him. He's way too loose for an opener, consistently poking at balls away from his body that he doesn't need to play at. He wouldn't stand up to any of the Indian bowlers.
Think that's what will happen, Pink back and Comben forward. He had absolutely no chance of success back last year with the support around him and the pressure up the ground and Comben training forward from all reports.
Mcsweeney was an odd selection, I love Mitch but he's very much a form player. Let him have a hit in the bash and see if he can get some confidence back. Konstas absolutely has to come in, I don't think he's ready at 19 but it can't hurt to blood him. It'd be hard to look worse than mcsweeney!
Part time footballers playing a practice match when the full time footballers aren't even training and the list isn't even finalised! Reckon you can chill.
Thought we had our next Warney. Shouldn't be playing in the bash and certainly shouldn't be bowling the 19th over. He's still young and leg spin is an unforgiving art, he should be playing grade cricket, bowling lots of overs and building his confidence. He'll be tossing and Turning tonight...
Please explain to me your reasoning for thinking Phillips would be in our best team? 15, 16 and 12 possessions in his last three games and averaging 5 kicks across his career. Is it because he tugged his jumper once when he kicked a goal? He'll be starting in the VFL again.
I reckon after a handful of games pick 25 will be forgotten. On top of leadership and experience his elite disposal off the half back line is exactly what we need. The fact that he's burning the track is a fair indication of his character, I'm thinking we'll surprise a few this season and Caleb...
