Yeah she's a bit grim at the moment.
We've already got one. It's Langers mate Matt from his Cricket Australia days. I think he also took some of Ian Millers player welfare and wellness role when he retired.
If he's not doing his job he should be shown the door. I think Woosha should start wielding the axe to some of the hangers on. I noticed at the draft our box was overflowing with 12 people whilst Sydney swans only had 6.
Woosha please Make Eagles Great Again !!!!
We the fans are sick and tired of the shit this club has been dishing out since 2022.
if she's got any cojones it's about time Elisabeth Gaines started talking to the members about our situation

As part of M.E.G.A the Footy Commission should sell the Eagles to Twiggy, he wouldn't tolerate the shit that's being dished up weekly. There would be a lot of sphincters being tightened if that were to happen.
Best thing Gaines could do for the club is to convert her old boss from Rugby Union to Aussie rules.

“Seeing Grossy and Hammer debut last week was a very, very proud moment for me as a teammate. It’s awesome to see your teammates get selected to play AFL, it’s their dream as much as it is yours.
“Seeing them get rewarded for the good footy that they’re playing, it’s definitely exciting and definitely motivating for myself as well and the other boys that haven’t been selected yet.

Kid speaks so well, I hope he has a long successful career with us. Too bad we've never heard anything like this come out of number 9's mouth..just here to punch in his time served before he leaves.

This is the part that really needs highlighting:

The Victorian product said that group, which includes top local talent Bo Allan, emerging key forward Jobe Shanahan, Gross and Davis, are determined to stick together through the club’s rebuild.

“We’re all very close already,” he said. “And we are planning on being the core of the group going forward.”

Haven't heard anything come out of his mouth this season, unless it was on one of his paid commercials. Also, our captains are notably absent from fronting the media this season (unless apologising for seeking out opportunities at other clubs, of course).

From Jay Clarke at the HS.

FWIW, I'm still trying to figure out what our first "free" hand out was.

NO MORE HANDOUTS
The AFL said last year it wanted to abolish priority picks.

But the Eagles look so barren for talent we know the request is coming at season’s end.

The problem is the AFL cannot hand out a special assistance package to a club which won the flag only six years ago and played finals four years ago.

They are in a pickle at the moment and Oscar Allen and Harley Reid both seem like they are out the door this year (Allen) or next (Reid).

The Allen press conference disaster looked like a hostage situation and won’t help in keeping the big man even though he has some bright moments early in the loss to Carlton.

The captain started the last quarter on the bench which was another bad sign after being sent to full back at fortnight ago.

His departure means the Eagles will have to go backwards before they go forwards again and it is perhaps why we saw all the top candidates pull out on the coaching race when it was up for grabs last year.

But a powerful and successful club like West Coast does not need another free leg-up.

They had pick one two years ago (Reid) and traded pick three (Jagga Smith) for 12 and 14.
And if Allen goes they will get pick one and two (as compensation) as the ladder stands.

Should they get pick three for free as well? No way. That should be reserved for clubs who are a basket case for the best part of a decade, as Andrew Dillon seemed to hint last year.

This year’s draft will be compromised in a major way already with father-son and next generation academy picks galore.

Expect rivals to go bananas if West Coast sticks its hand out considering it is a club which has won four premierships in the AFL era.

Well, if Jay passed grade 1 math, he'd know 7 is the 'best part of a decade' and the wheels fell off in the last 3 rounds of '19.

We played finals in 2020?

The wheels fell off in the back end of 2021 after we had an undermanned win v Richmond then dropped a bunch of the performing youngsters for returning unfit senior players.

He was getting worked on by the physios wasn’t he?

That's true but the rot set in when we should've finished top 2 in '19, then badly lost the last 3 games.

Also sounds better for us when we inevitably ask for assistance ;)

This is actually an argument for us receiving assistance, logic isn't his strong suit.

I don't understand the hate with Oscar going to the backline, Jeremy Cameron does it so much more, yet is praised for his versatility, meanwhile we are a disgrace of a club for doing it. Even Charlie Curnow spends more time back than Oscar.

Edit: sorry about the washed out screenshots, weird driver issue.

"This year’s draft will be compromised in a major way already with father-son and next generation academy picks galore."

But no more Hand Outs?

These are handouts and often to clubs currently successful. The biggest compromise of drafts isn't through a priority pick but through NGAs (Pies have one coming into Top 10 contention and has not set foot in their club) and Father Sons. Many of which are going to clubs at the pointy end of the ladder- see Pies with Daicos x2 and Lions with Ashcrofts x2.
The biggest one for me but is the Compo picks. Seems like we will get one this year with Allen but IMO, the acquiring club should be paying for the player, not the other 16 clubs.
We have been roundly fvkced in the arse with the Hand Outs other clubs have received while we have been at the bottom of the ladder. Our own trading decisions not withstanding, finishing last and getting your 2nd selection at around pick 30 while top clubs get a 20% discount and use a heap of rubbish picks to pick up Elite talent is a massive inequity that needs addressing before priority pick assistance for teams averaging 3 wins/season for 4 or 5 seasons.

I mean, he's just named all the kids in his draft year. I wouldn't take it as a comment on Reid leaving, if that was the insinuation (and if not, apologies).

Nothing to do with Reid, more the point they want to be at the club and drag us out of this mess.

Do we go full yoof mode and appointment someone like Ginbey as captain next year? Seems to have the work ethic and speaks well.

Have a Baker as his vice (someone Ginbey can lean of if needed)

Can't hurt, would probably be more respected by the youngens than someone older. Also give them the reigns and tell them it's their team now
